Eyebrows are honestly... so hard every time I do makeup, I don't know why, haha. It feels like a quick tidy-up should be enough, but when I actually trim them myself the two sides come out different, and I never know which part to cut more.

Minjei Makeup Gangnam Seocho Branch is within walking distance of Gangnam Station on the Shinbundang Line. If you're looking for a place for brow care in Gangnam, the access is pretty good.

However, Minjei Makeup runs as a shop-in-shop, so first-timers should check the signs carefully. If you look for the Geumsoneonniss (금손언니쓰) sign and the Minjei Makeup sign, it isn't hard to find, haha.

How does the eyebrow consultation at Minjei Makeup work?

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was an Excellence Award from the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation (한국소비자산업평가). And not just for one year: they received it three years in a row, 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Honestly, when it comes to anything involving your face, it's important to know the place is really credible. I usually spend a very long time researching at first, but the reviews were good and I heard the consultation is very detailed, so I booked right away :)

When I arrived, they first checked the current state of my brows. I do trim them a little at home with a brow razor, but I'd never really thought about which shape suits my face. I just cut what looked long and tidied stray hairs. This time we started with a consultation, looking at my face shape and brow shape together to see which design would suit me.

Should you grow out your brows before an eyebrow consultation?

Before a brow consultation, I recommend growing your brows out for about 3 months. This is really important!!! I went after about 3 months without grooming at all. It would be a shame to show up with lots of parts already cut and not get a proper consultation.. just in case, I left my brows completely alone for about 3 months before visiting, so they could see the raised parts from every angle and shape them properly! And the result... I'm totally satisfied!!

Minjei Makeup doesn't look at brow shape alone; they design based on the overall balance of the face, so it felt a bit different from the brows I usually do. They say almost nobody has perfectly identical left and right brows, and I liked that they shaped mine while checking even that asymmetry.

Which eyebrows suit a round face with prominent cheekbones?

At Minjei Makeup, they first analyzed my whole face. I have slightly prominent cheekbones, so the empty space of my face was showing. My brows have a slightly raised shape, and I use the muscles around them a lot, so they were actually quite developed.

I use my left brow more, so it sits a bit higher. I didn't notice it when they just mentioned it, but once they held a ruler up, the left one was definitely higher!!

Straight brows vs. round brows: which suits a round face?

They told me straight brows on a round face can make the face look bigger. I could ask my questions too, since I'd been agonizing over straight brows versus slightly curved ones. But if you curve them fully and the middle gets dark, the impression can look strong, so the area between the brows should be kept light.

They said the brow should reach the midpoint between the inner corner of the eye and the bridge of the nose. My left brow reached that point, but the right one fell a little short. So they said it's good to lightly draw that part in with brow pencil.

How to draw your eyebrows, as taught at Minjei Makeup

To draw your brows, first fill the empty spaces with a medium brown. The basic frame is already set, so you just fill in the gaps like a coloring book.

But here's the caution: don't actually color it in. Draw so lightly that you can barely tell whether it touches your skin. Then, with a spoolie brush (스풀리 브러시, used to groom brow hairs), brush down along the direction of the hairs 2 to 3 times to even out the overall tone.

How do you fill in the brows near the bridge of the nose?

Fill the area between the brows with a light brown brow pencil, so faintly it looks like you did and didn't. This center part matters too. Once you find the midpoint between the inner eye corner and the bridge of the nose, fill that spot with the light brown. If the center of the face is dark the impression can look harsh, so tone down the shade itself.

Same as before, go so lightly that you can't tell if you did it at all. Repeat 3 to 4 times or more, and finish when it looks like you did and didn't. Again, align the hairs with the spoolie brush 2 to 3 times. Lastly, sweep a brow brush over the whole brow 2 to 3 times to even out the tone.

How long does Minjei Makeup eyebrow grooming last?

After brow grooming at Minjei Makeup, they say the shape holds well for about a month if you just maintain it with a brow razor! After the makeup, I was given the brow razor and spoolie brush they used, for upkeep.

The far left is my original brow, the middle is a mid-process check, and the last is the brow with the final makeup! You can clearly see it getting better step by step!!

It doesn't end with just setting the shape: they also cut the brow hairs with scissors, so even the density is covered to some extent! They say the motto of Minjei's brow grooming is to make it so you don't need brow makeup! My brows should look super pretty for the next month, haha.
