Sharosu-gil café for pulse latte and caramel crumble pie: Pulse Line

My friend and I had lunch near Seoul National University Station and went looking for a nice-vibe café on Sharosu-gil, and — wait, is this new?👀 A café I'd never seen before: Pulse Line Coffee! We said "should we check it out?" and went in!

Where is Pulse Line Coffee on Sharosu-gil and how do you get there?

Pulse Line Coffee is a new café on Sharosu-gil near Seoul National University Station. On the way there's a tiny bookshop called Holo Store, which is cute and has a nice vibe too — if you like books, it's worth ducking in on your way to the café!

Hours are Mon–Fri 08:00–20:00, Sat–Sun 09:00–20:00, with last order at 19:55. There's no dedicated parking at the café, so if you're driving you'll need to use a nearby public lot!

What is the interior of Pulse Line Coffee like?

Maybe because it's such a new spot, the whole place feels clean but also kind of hip? How do I put it... a bit like a café you'd find in Hongdae haha.

This kind of vibe feels different for Sharosu-gil, so I think people hunting for a nice 'mood café' would love it! Photos come out looking pretty atmospheric too haha.

On one side they sell cup goods too, so it was fun to browse, and it looked like a good spot for a selfie so I took one myself haha.

Pulse Line Coffee has everything from basic coffee drinks to a variety of desserts including handmade pies, and the signature coffee and desserts are the Line Spänner, Pulse Latte, crumble pie, and brûlée pie! The names alone feel a bit different from a typical café menu, right?

Coffee lovers, take note!! Besides the bean of the month, they had Guatemala, Guatemala decaf, Ethiopia, Colombia, and more. Being able to choose beans to suit your taste makes it feel less like a café that's just pretty desserts and more like a place that's genuinely serious about coffee!

And what really caught my eye... was the dessert, of course haha. Their signature menu includes crumble pie and brûlée pie, and apparently they're handmade in-store??? Well then, I had to try one haha. Let me check if it's tasty (?) hahahaha.

The order: pulse latte, crumble pie and Americano

I ordered a Pulse Latte (₩6,500), a handmade crumble pie (₩6,500), and an Americano (₩4,800). Since the pie looked like it'd be sweet, I ordered a plain Americano for one drink and the signature Pulse Latte for the other!

What does the pulse latte at Pulse Line Coffee taste like?

Right off the bat, the look is different from a regular café latte, isn't it? I've had a lot of lattes, but this was a flavor I'd never tried before...? It's different from the nutty latte I usually drink, so if you want something a bit special instead of a plain café latte, the Pulse Latte might be worth trying!

Taste and texture of the handmade caramel crumble pie

Tasting the handmade crumble pie, I liked that thanks to the cookie base and the crumble it wasn't just a soft dessert — there was a nice bite here and there. Inside is a caramel cream cheese filling, so it's nutty but also on the sweet side! A proper sugar recharge haha. Pairing it with the signature latte was nice, but personally, of course... sweet desserts call for iced Americano ♥.

It was quieter than I expected, and the overall vibe was exactly my taste, so it was a good place for a relaxed coffee. There's a wide coffee menu, but with handmade pies too, it's a great pick if you're looking for a dessert café on Sharosu-gil!
