Chuncheon Myeongdong cold noodle spot with a giant rib: Sinbi Myeonok

I came to Chuncheon to hang out but figured I should also eat something delicious, so while looking for a place to eat I stopped by Sinbi Myeonok. Amazing... I had the udae naengmyeon and it was seriously delicious,,

Why Sinbi Myeonok in Chuncheon Myeongdong?

This is Sinbi Myeonok's Chuncheon branch. I really love naengmyeon in general, so the moment I saw the udae naengmyeon on the menu, I thought, ah, this is the place.

Inside Sinbi Myeonok: space and seating for solo diners

Sinbi Myeonok Chuncheon looks huge and spacious from the outside already. Clean and eye-catching~ Sinbi Myeonok. Once inside, the place was spacious and comfortable.

The tables were placed with plenty of room, so it seemed like a good spot for family meals, all kinds of gatherings, or work dinners too.

Ordering was easy through the kiosk on the table. I went alone~ but ate until I was completely stuffed, udae naengmyeon and yukjeon and all.

Sinbi Myeonok menu and prices

Sinbi Myeonok Chuncheon has mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) too, plus hoe-naengmyeon (raw fish cold noodles), nurungjitang (scorched rice soup), and even galbitang (short rib soup) — the menu is really varied. And there were tons of side dishes like mandu (dumplings) too!

Looks like their signature is the giant galbitang... looking around, other customers were eating galbitang too, but I was drawn to the naengmyeon.

There's a separate self-serve bar, and you can get more side dishes too. It was kept really clean, and the kimchi was excellent.

Large udae naengmyeon, 17,000 won: how big is that rib?

The noodles arrived! The first thing that caught my eye was of course the size of the rib... a big chunk of meat still on the bone, wow, what even is this visual.

The bright red sauce made my mouth water,, an egg on top too. They bring the mul-naengmyeon broth along with it.

The rib bone is seriously big. Holding it in my hand felt like holding a club... I ordered the large size, and thanks to the rib it looked even bigger.

A properly spicy Hamhung-style bibim naengmyeon! Generous sauce piled on top of the noodles, with cucumber, radish, egg, and even meat mixed in.

The sauce is tangy and sweet-spicy in the best way. The noodles were really chewy too~ eating them together with the rib meat was the best... a perfect combo, honestly just amazing.

Yukjeon, 14,000 won: three thick slices with the noodles

The yukjeon I ordered alongside also arrived, three huge slices.. really thick and large. The portion was substantial, but I'm a big eater so, well.

Pajeori (scallion pickle) came on top of the yukjeon, and eating them together in one bite was ah, mild and savory, then the scallions hit right after, so good;

I cut the yukjeon into pieces with scissors and tried it with the naengmyeon too, and one more bite with the noodle broth... ah, it was so good I kept marveling as I ate.

Is Sinbi Myeonok Chuncheon worth a visit?

I had a really solid, filling meal in Chuncheon Myeongdong, and I highly recommend Sinbi Myeonok Chuncheon. If you travel there, stop by once, the udae naengmyeon is a must.
