Sillim pizza date with M-size half-and-half and corn cheese: Pug Pizza

It's been so hot lately and I've been busy taking care of my body and my mind, so I kept putting off this post haha. I'm someone who eats pizza maybe once a year if that, but for some reason I suddenly got a huge craving for it recently, so I dragged my boyfriend (?) along to visit 'Pug Pizza House.'

Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch: the building and its pet rules

Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch is a three-story pizza place on the main street of Sillim-ro, and pets are only allowed on the 3rd floor pet zone. From the outside, the full-glass windows covered in hip lettering and flashy neon already feel super foreign and exotic.

Look at the outside of the place, isn't it amazing? And get this — dogs are allowed here!!!

• No pets allowed on 1st or 2nd floor, only 3rd floor

Unfortunately since we went in the evening, I didn't get to see any cute pups... TT

There's a pug model sculpture in front of the store, and just a little further there's a 'powerful air conditioning' sign on the door — got me excited before even walking in.

What's on the 1st floor and at the self-serve bar?

Pug Pizza House's self-serve bar has water, 4 kinds of sauce, pickles, tableware, wet wipes, tissues, aprons, and takeout containers. The 1st floor interior is clean and unique.

The self-serve bar was really clean, and had water, four different sauces, pickles, tableware, wet wipes, tissues, aprons, takeout containers, plus cute stickers too ( ˶ ᷇ 𖥦 ᷆ ˵ )‬. At places without a self-serve bar you have to call a staff member or go get things yourself, so having it self-serve felt so much more comfortable haha. And you can pack up leftover pizza in the takeout containers to bring home nice and thriftily.

We had reserved ahead, so we were shown to the 2nd floor — they explained everything before we went up haha. Even the stairs were really unique.

Inside on the 2nd floor, the window seats get this really moody vibe once evening hits. And just like downstairs, there's a self-serve bar here too. Overall both the 1st and 2nd floors are spacious, so the tables aren't cramped or crowded together, which I liked : )

Pasta, gnocchi, potatoes, salad, corn cheese, fried rice with kimchi, bagels, buffalo — such a wide and generous range of sides. It's a pizza place but the sides are on point too*

There are also drinks and alcohol you can't miss, plus even doggy treats fitting for a dog-friendly pizza place. You could really feel how much the owner cares about pets.

What we ordered was the Pug beer set half-and-half pizza (M size)~

• Crazy Sweet Potato + Truffle Shrimp Scallop
• Oriental mini salad
• Butter garlic potato + honey pollack roe potato
• Mala corn cheese
• 2 Budweisers

!!!!The visuals were seriously insane....!!!!

The Budweiser had just the right refreshing fizz and a clean finish, super satisfying. Personally I loved the spicy chipotle sauce and the sweet-savory corn sauce!

Oriental salad, addictive corn cheese and two potato sides

The mala corn cheese was good enough to put fancy sashimi restaurant corn cheese to shame, and for the potatoes we ordered half butter garlic, half honey pollack roe. In my opinion, the honey pollack roe potato was the best.

The honey pollack roe potato. We had the pre-meal salad and then the corn cheese — the salad was tasty too, but the corn cheese was genuinely high-class-sashimi-restaurant-level good. My boyfriend and I were both blown away haha. He doesn't like pollack roe so he had the butter garlic potato, and I love pollack roe so I got the honey pollack roe — and for me, the honey pollack roe was the best. Salty with plenty of honey sauce underneath, it was truly the perfect beer snack, no?

Truffle Shrimp Scallop vs Crazy Sweet Potato: which half won?

On Pug Pizza House's half-and-half pizza, the truffle shrimp scallop was the overwhelming winner. The Crazy Sweet Potato my boyfriend picked was pretty ordinary in comparison. Here's the star of the show, the main pi-zza

Since I'm a shrimp-loving person (basically obsessed with seafood in general), I picked the truffle shrimp scallop without much hesitation, and it was absolutely the right call. The umami magic of the katsuobushi flakes sprinkled over the truffle sauce — this took the top spot for me. I'm curious about the other flavors, but I think I'll just keep ordering this one no matter what.

This is the Crazy Sweet Potato my boyfriend picked, and honestly it was pretty ordinary. The sweet potato cubes weren't anything special, but the mousse was nicely sweet, and it paired decently with the salty shrimp so we finished it without getting sick of it lol.

I can't believe pizza could be this delicious — why did I only find this out now. Since it's near my place though, I'll be dropping by often on my way around. Next time I want to try the sandwiches too!

• Being dog-friendly means you can take your dog out for a walk and bring them along instead of leaving them home alone 👍🏻

A certified must-try pizza place near Sillim Station! If you live nearby or are trying to decide on lunch or dinner around Sillim Station, definitely check it out. Highly recommend!

Hours and how to get there from Sillim Station

Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch is open daily from 11:40 to 22:00, with last order at 21:20. On weekdays from 15:00 to 17:00, dining is only available on the 1st floor (including the pet zone). Reservations are also available via Naver.

Walk straight for 4 minutes from Exit 6 of Sillim Station (Line 2) and you'll find it. Pro tip: use the escalator at Exit 5.
