Songdo sushi restaurant via Incheon Bridge, weekday wait: Sushi Doku

Hi, I'm Bogeum Papa, a local parenting-foodie and a third-year Yeongjongdo resident ^^ Today I'm introducing a sushi place in Songdo New City that you can reach just by crossing Incheon Bridge from Yeongjongdo! It's where I always go when sushi cravings hit: Sushi Doku The Songdo (스시도쿠 더송도), a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of Honesta, next to Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlets ^^

Sushi Doku The Songdo: basic info and ratings

According to Naver, Sushi Doku The Songdo is open 11:00–21:00, with break time from 14:30 to 17:00. This time we ordered two Premium Sushi Special Sets (10 pieces, ₩25,900 each), which came to ₩53,800 total, and of course I'd go back!

Is there a wait at Sushi Doku The Songdo on weekday evenings?

Even on weekday evenings, if you show up at 5pm when break time ends, you can easily end up waiting. It's a truly popular Songdo spot. Whenever I come to Songhyeona and crave sushi, I head straight to Sushi Doku The Songdo on the 2nd floor of Honesta Mall next to Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlets! See the customers waiting?

Dine-in sets at Sushi Doku The Songdo run from the Standard Sushi Set at ₩19,900 to the Top Sushi Set (Wanjeong) at ₩35,900, and takeout starts at ₩15,900. So why is it popular enough to have a wait even on weekday evenings? Shall we look at the menu?

Is Sushi Doku The Songdo a good sushi restaurant to visit with a baby?

Sushi Doku The Songdo is a great Songdo spot to go with a baby. It doesn't show in the photo, but they even wrap the baby chair in plastic wrap, which is such a thoughtful touch ^^ I'm always busy sanitizing high chairs and toddler chairs, but here there's no need ^^

The restaurant is quite spacious, and the neighboring tables are screened off with cloth, so it's nice for an intimate meal too ^^

Is Sushi Doku The Songdo good for wedding invitation meals, small groups or team dinners?

Sushi Doku The Songdo has two separate spaces, though they aren't closed off by doors. They're not private rooms, but in a separated area you can easily host a wedding invitation meal or a small group gathering!

What comes in the great-value Premium Sushi Special Set?

Our all-time favorite at Sushi Doku The Songdo is always the ₩25,900 Premium Sushi Special Set! The sushi lineup is good, and we're totally happy with the quality and taste! You get flatfish, red sea bream, salmon, squid, sweet shrimp, akami, red shrimp, snow crab meat, eel and ankimo, plus half udon (refillable), salad, tempura, tsukemono and truffle chawanmushi.

The salad in the Premium Sushi Special Set is refillable, clean and tasty! The truffle chawanmushi is soft and full of truffle aroma ^^

The half udon is even refillable! It has just the flavor of basic udon! And then the shrimp tempura and karaage (Japanese fried chicken)! Fresh out of the fryer, they'd be hard to get wrong, right?

Which sushi should you try at Sushi Doku The Songdo?

So, shall we look at the sushi?

My favorite Sushi Doku sushi is the ankimo nigiri! It's a gunkan-style (battleship roll) piece made with monkfish liver! It's really rich, nutty and silky, the kind of taste you only understand once you try it!

From the tuna to the shrimp to the red sea bream, every single piece tastes great!

And the salmon sushi at Sushi Doku The Songdo has a secret weapon! It's the long tail hiding under the sushi! The salmon on the salmon sushi is really big, so I'm totally satisfied ^^

You brush the soy sauce onto the sushi, and if you want a truly lovely meal, I absolutely recommend Sushi Doku in Songdo ^^
