Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is a Western restaurant in Dongseong-ro, Daegu, near Banwoldang Station, known for its homemade tomato sauce and olive-oil cooking. On a visit with a child, the writer got a high chair right away and ordered the signature set: baked risotto, a half-and-half Hawaiian and margherita pizza, vongole pasta and a blueberry ade. Pasta is ₩12,500 and pizza is ₩19,000. Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is a solid, good-value Western restaurant for eating out with kids or for a Dongseong-ro date.

Nap-time café at Songdo outlet: hojicha Gato as iced latte, Wunder

Wunder Coffee Bar Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch is a coffee and ice cream café in the B1 Food Square of Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo in Yeonsu, Incheon. The blogger stopped by during a child's nap time for a half-and-half Wunder Gato (affogato) and a half-and-half ice cream with extra choco shell. The hojicha ice cream paired well with the nutty espresso, and the leftover Wunder Gato stirred into a fun iced-latte-style drink. Wunder Coffee Bar is a good stop for a sugar boost and a reset in the middle of shopping at the Songdo outlet.

Gyeongju pot rice takeout: grilled eel & seaweed rice tea, Handa Sot

Handa Sot Gyeongju (한다솥 경주점) is a two-story hanok restaurant serving pot rice (sotbap) and Korean set meals on Cheomseong-ro, at the entrance to Daereungwon in Gyeongju. After an evening at Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond ran late, the writer took a kiln-grilled fish set for 2 and a flame-grilled eel pot rice back to the lodging, then heated the leftover sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) with seaweed soup into seaweed rice tea the next morning. Handa Sot Gyeongju is a Gyeongju restaurant that packs its pot rice takeout as carefully as it serves dine-in meals.

Kalguksu restaurant near Suwon Station with a baby: kal-nakji, Daseon

Daseon Kalguksu Main Branch (다선칼국수 본점) is a 25-year-old kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Paldal-gu, Suwon, about a 7-minute walk from Suwon Station Exit 8. On a weekday just after 11 AM, the writer held a baby on their lap because there are no high chairs, and ordered Daseon kal-nakji (octopus kalguksu) for 2, plate suyuk (boiled pork slices) and kimchi mandu (dumplings). The wide spacing between tables made this comfortable, and a line formed before noon. With generous octopus and clams in the kal-nakji, Daseon Kalguksu Main Branch is worth recommending for a Suwon Station lunch or a relaxed date meal.

Korean dinner with parents in Cheomdan, Gwangju: butterfish, Misikga

Misikga Imokase Cheomdan Direct Store is a Korean dinner restaurant in Cheomdan, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, that serves 17 dishes on one table, hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) style. The writer took their parents and ordered the Imokase for 3, eating soybean-powder raw fish (makhoe), braised butterfish, skate samhap bossam, baby octopus with cheese fried rice and injeolmi snowflake bingsu; the parents enjoyed the braised butterfish so much they wanted a refill. Misikga Imokase suits anyone in Cheomdan who wants a generous dinner with drinks and a family meal at the same table.

Brunch spot in Gwangju Suwan: 3-generation Family Set A, Bueokgan

Bueokgan Suwan Branch (부엌간 수완점) is a Western restaurant serving pasta, pilaf and pizza on a side street in the Suwan district of Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. The writer went with their parents and baby and ordered Family Set A. The writer's favourite was the basil pesto cream pasta, their father's was the Kung Pao chicken pilaf and their mother's was the arugula pizza, and staff brought a high chair and baby tableware right away. Bueokgan Suwan Branch is a solid choice for a family brunch in Suwan with a baby.

Anyang Korean BBQ with no smoke and stone-pot steamed egg: Sannae

Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch (산내숯불갈비 박달점) is a newly opened Handon marinated pork galbi restaurant on a side street near Bakdal Market in Bakdal-dong, Manan-gu, Anyang. On a visit with a child, the writer ordered 3 servings of Handon marinated pork galbi (15,000 won per 250g), doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) and steamed egg; even with every table full, the room never filled with smoke, and the not-too-sweet marinade and the stone-pot steamed egg stood out. With a clean dining room, good food and fair prices, Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is worth a visit for a family gathering or a team dinner.

Siheung BBQ with a baby: snow crab roe stew and mild galbi at Daehwa

Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch is a newly opened Korean BBQ restaurant in the Yuseung Hannaedeul First Park shopping arcade in Janggok-dong, Siheung, specialising in Gyeongju-style short ribs marinated to order. The writer's family, baby included, ordered the Gyeongju-style marinated short rib platter and a snow crab roe stew (daegejang jjigae), and also tried the set's chicken knee meat, market-style kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and bowl ice cream. Daehwa Sutbul Garden's lightly seasoned short ribs had the baby asking for more, and the snow crab roe stew was good enough to mix with rice to the last spoonful.

Bucheon duck restaurant with minari duck soup for parents: Grill Duck

Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue is a duck restaurant on Beoman-ro in Siheung, on the Okgil-dong, Bucheon side, a 3-minute walk from Starfield Bucheon. Over lunch with her parents, the writer ordered half-and-half duck (raw duck and jumulleok, marinated duck), a medium duck soup, perilla oil buckwheat noodles and garlic chive fried rice; the nutty raw duck and the minari-packed duck soup broth stood out. Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue is a good fit for a restorative family meal out.
