Yeongjongdo terrace café with a restroom basket: egg tart, 5PM
In short
5PM sunset hour is a bakery café on the ground floor of the KCC Switzen shopping arcade in Yeongjong Haneul City, Incheon. On a Yeongjongdo trip, on a day when the salt bread was nearly sold out, the writer had mocha salt bread, an egg tart and a Dubai chewy cookie with an iced americano and an iced vanilla latte on the outdoor terrace, and found the restroom basket with a key, wet wipes and hand wash a thoughtful touch. 5PM sunset hour is a Yeongjongdo café well suited to coffee and bread on the terrace on a fine day.

I finally found a café I really love, and it's been a while! It's a bakery and coffee spot I stumbled on during a trip to Yeongjongdo: "5PM sunset hour." Even the locals vouch for this Yeongjongdo café.
Where is 5PM sunset hour, and what are the hours and parking?
5PM sunset hour is at 380 Eunhasu-ro, Yeongjong-gu, Incheon, in Sangga-dong, 1F, Unit 103. It's open 07:00–19:00 (until 18:00 on Mondays), with last order at 18:00 (17:00 on Mondays). Parking, takeout and reservations are all available.

It's a small, cozy shop in an apartment complex (the KCC Swiss Venue shopping arcade in Yeongjong Haneul City). True to the café's name, the whole place feels like it's soaking in the warmest, prettiest 5 PM sunset glow ✨🧡
There were about six tables outside.

As a proper bakery café, it also posts the times when the bread comes out 🍞

For parking, use the ground-floor lot behind the shopping arcade. They told us we could go down to the underground lot if it was full. Luckily there was space on the ground floor, so we parked there.
Inside 5PM sunset hour and the menu
The inside is small but has a clear, warm sunset concept, and there was a wide range of coffee, drinks, bread and sandwiches.

The café is small, but the interior has a clearly warm, cozy feel 🧡

There were lots of coffees and drinks to choose from,

and plenty of breads too, though when I went the salt bread was almost sold out :(

There were lots of sandwiches, too.
What I ordered 🥐☕
- Iced americano
- Iced vanilla latte
- Mocha salt bread
- Egg tart
- Dubai chewy cookie
Sadly, the only salt breads left were the ice cream salt bread and the mocha salt bread, so I went with the mocha. After a lot of agonizing I also picked an egg tart and a Dubai chewy cookie (known in Korea as "dduzzonku"). (I really wanted to order the butter rice cake too!)
How do the coffee and bread taste on the 5PM sunset hour terrace?
The iced americano at 5PM sunset hour was clean and nutty with no sourness, and the iced vanilla latte had a rich, hefty vanilla flavor. The weather was lovely and a breeze was blowing, so we didn't hesitate to take a seat on the outdoor terrace.
I also saw a cute doggo there. Ganadi saves the world!

Ta-da~ and the smell of the bread was sooo good. I know nothing about coffee, but I do know this café's coffee is really good. Our tastes are firmly set, so we always order an iced americano and an iced vanilla latte. The americano was clean and nutty with no sourness, a perfect match for dessert, and the vanilla latte had a richer, heftier vanilla flavor than at other cafés. Yum!

Mocha salt bread and egg tart
It was a mocha salt bread rather than the plain one, sadly, but with its faint mocha bun aroma, the plain, savory taste of salt bread still came through without being overdone. Crispy outside, soft inside, with butter flavor and a salty kick all blending well. I'm officially declaring this a salt bread hotspot.
The egg tart was really good too: crisp pastry and a soft, custardy filling. It was moderately sweet and went well with the coffee.

Dubai chewy cookie to go
The timing for our dinner reservation was awkward, so I took the leftover mocha bun and the Dubai chewy cookie to go. Back at the lodging, I microwaved the cookie for about 7 seconds, and it was sweet, crispy and chewy, a genuine, proper Dubai chewy cookie :(

The weather was great and the café was pretty, so I put the food on a bench and took a ton of photos like an influencer, haha

How's that? Hehe. While we stayed, customers kept coming and going nonstop. Sitting on the outdoor terrace, I heard some passing students say, "My mom loves this café so much," and thought, "Ah, this place really is known as a hotspot."

How do you use the bathroom at 5PM sunset hour?
At 5PM sunset hour, you carry the basket bag set out in the shop to the bathroom. Inside the basket were the bathroom key, wet wipes, tissue and even hand wash.
You can feel the café's hidden thoughtfulness in how the bathroom works, too. They have a basket bag like this, and when you go to the bathroom you just take it with you. Like this! The best... I've never seen anything like it!
5PM sunset hour: overall verdict
- ✔ A salt bread and baked-goods hotspot hiding in an apartment complex shopping arcade
- ✔ Sitting on the outdoor terrace on a nice day is the best for coffee!
- ✔ Both the nutty iced americano and the rich iced vanilla latte are great
- ✔ Freshly baked mocha salt bread, egg tart and Dubai chewy cookie were all total hits
- ✔ Even the cute, thoughtful bathroom basket is the best
