Open at 8am: a morning coffee stop in Gwangalli

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch opens early, at 8am, which makes it a great brunch café for tourists to grab breakfast at, and a perfect spot for morning coffee — it was a quiet, mellow, comfortable café.

Inside, Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch has a 1st and 2nd floor — you order on the 1st floor, where there are about 2 tables you can sit and eat at.

Dukes Coffee beans from Australia, sold by the bag

While looking around Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch, a blue bean bag caught my eye. The shop also sells its own in-house roasted beans, but Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is a café that uses the famous Australian roaster Dukes Coffee. Dukes Coffee is known as one of Australia's top three coffee brands and is apparently popular among Koreans.

After ordering, since it's a place officially using Dukes Coffee from Australia, the rich coffee scent filled the air as I headed up to the fragrant 2nd floor.

The second floor: wood-toned seats for reading and trip planning

The 2nd floor of Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch has lots of seats, with a clean, comfortable wood-toned interior. It's quiet enough for reading, and also a nice spot to plan out your Gwangalli itinerary.

With warm sunlight pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch felt like a pretty café with a warm atmosphere.

Decaf latte, 7,000 won: hot versus iced

For our order, we got two decaf café lattes. The decaf lattes were ₩7,000 each, and we drank them together — a perfect morning coffee vibe, making it a great stop before starting a day out in Gwangalli.

I finally got to taste Dukes Coffee, known as one of Australia's top three coffee brands. It's a coffee Koreans love, and brewed as a latte, the rich coffee aroma filled the air even before I took a sip — the nuttiness of the latte was really charming.

My friend had her Dukes Coffee latte iced. The iced version was delicious too, but drinking it hot let the Dukes Coffee bean aroma come through even more, giving a richer, nuttier cup — it made me happy.
