Suwon Italian restaurant for lasagna and grapefruit ade: Low Five

I’m leaving a review of Low Five, the Italian restaurant in Haenggung-dong that we stopped by during a long-overdue outing for two in the neighborhood. You’ll find it as you walk along the alley, and both the food and the atmosphere inside and out were even better than expected, which made it especially memorable.

There is no dedicated parking lot. If you are driving, please use a nearby paid public lot, such as the Seon-gyeong Library parking lot, I'Park City Art Museum parking lot, or Jangan-dong public parking lot!

As you approach the restaurant, you will see green plants and climbing ivy. The trees make it feel as if you have stepped into a little forest rather than somewhere in the city. Tucked quietly inside the alley, it also has a serene feel. It was nice to slowly look around the entrance and take photos before finding our seats.

There is also a Catchtable waiting device beside the entrance, so it is easy to join the queue if there is a wait.

Here are the charming outdoor terrace seats with wooden tables and the menu posted neatly on the wall. Warm lighting and a vintage mood come together to create an exotic, comfortable, cozy atmosphere even before you go inside.

Inside the restaurant and how to order

The interior is spacious and open, while the design and thoughtfully chosen little objects throughout make it feel cozy.

There is also a tidy self-service bar where you can comfortably help yourself to water, extra sauces, and tableware.

You order through the tablet kiosk at each table. The menu photos and descriptions were clear, so after taking our time deciding, the two of us ordered some of the signature dishes.

What the two of us shared

The two of us ordered grapefruit ade, classic Caesar salad, classic lasagna, and corn pizza, and enjoyed a very generous spread.

How was the classic Caesar salad?

The classic Caesar salad (₩12,000) was fresh and crisp with a squeeze of lemon juice and the dressing. It was a nice light dish to have before the mains.

Ade with bits of fresh grapefruit

Grapefruit ade (₩6,000) is something I usually enjoy, and this one was satisfying: rather than an artificial sweetness, it seemed to have fresh grapefruit added directly, with refreshing bits to chew and a deep, pleasantly bitter flavor.

Classic lasagna that came down to personal taste

The classic lasagna (₩23,000) arrived bubbling, filled with rich sauce and cheese between layers of fresh pasta.

Personally, I found the sauce flavor a little strong, but my friend said it suited their taste perfectly and enjoyed it so much. It is a dish that can be appealing depending on your preferences.

The corn pizza we finished completely

The corn pizza (₩25,000) is said to be Low Five’s signature dish, so we decided to order it.

I eat pizza often, so honestly I thought it would probably be much like the others, but from the first bite it suited my taste perfectly.

It was not overly seasoned or rich, but mild and nutty! It is topped with whole corn kernels. It was so good that we had planned to eat about one slice and pack up the rest, but my friend and I cleared every last bit.

The two of us ordered a variety of dishes to share, and the combination of food was lovely; the portions were satisfying too. It is a great place to have a meal while talking in a relaxed atmosphere, and would suit anyone looking for a date spot in Haenggung-dong. Delicious Italian food in a calming, forest-like space in the city—the popping corn pizza and lasagna combination is one I keep thinking about!
