Solo lunch near Sinchon Station: sundae-guk set and mandu, Pyeongando Sikdang
Pyeongando Sikdang Sinchon Branch is a 24-hour sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) restaurant a 3–5 minute walk from Exit 3 of Sinchon Station in Seodaemun, Seoul. On a weekday lunch visit alone, the writer ordered the special sundae-guk set for ₩17,000 and four king mandu (dumplings) for ₩5,000, and was startled by the sheer size of the stone bowl, which came loaded with sundae and pyeonyuk (boiled sliced meat). For a solo diner, the special set alone is plenty for a satisfying meal.
