Gasan Japanese restaurant: crab pasta like poo pad pong curry, Gapposo
In short
Gapposo is a Japanese restaurant on the 1st floor of Hyundai Terra Tower Gasan DK in Gasan Digital Complex, Seoul, serving aged sashimi and sushi alongside pasta and fried dishes. The writer shared the sharing pasta set for two (₩65,000) of black sesame porridge, an aged sashimi platter, 6 pieces of sushi, chili chicken karaage and crab-miso soft-shell crab pasta, and the meaty soft-shell crab reminded them of Thai poo pad pong curry. Gapposo's set suits two people who want more than just sushi and would like to taste several dishes.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat in Gasan Digital Complex, let me introduce Gapposo (갓포소), a place with a wide range of Japanese dishes.

Gapposo serves sushi and aged sashimi, but also pasta and fried dishes, so the menu felt a little different from the usual. This time we ordered the sharing pasta set for two, and being able to share lots of different dishes made the meal feel extra generous.

So here's Gapposo, a Gasan sushi spot and Japanese restaurant that locals call a "Gadi" favorite :)

Why choose Gapposo, a Japanese restaurant in Gasan Digital Complex?
What makes Gapposo stand out is that you can enjoy not just sushi and sashimi but also pasta, fried dishes and more.

Looking at the menu, there was a wide range of Japanese dishes, including aged sashimi platters, sushi, kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) and unagidong (grilled eel rice bowl), plus sharing sets for two so you can eat several dishes together. The pasta set we chose packs aged sashimi, sushi, chili chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and pasta into one meal, which is great when you want to try a bit of everything.

It's a nice choice for days when sushi alone feels a little lacking and you want a variety of dishes.
Gapposo's atmosphere, seating and lunch-hour crowds
Gapposo is on the 1st floor of Hyundai Terra Tower Gasan DK, so it's easy to find.

Inside, it felt neat and tidy, with wood-toned tables and a calm mood.

There are tables for 2–4 people as well as seats for bigger groups, so it'd work for a lunch with coworkers or meeting up with friends.

There's also a 4-person room, which looks good for family or friends who want a separate space.

Since this is Gasan Digital Complex, lunchtime can be crowded with office workers. If you'd like a relaxed meal, go a little early, or go for a late lunch after 1 p.m.
What's in Gapposo's ₩65,000 sharing pasta set for two?
What we ordered was Gapposo's sharing pasta set for two at ₩65,000.

The set consists of aged sashimi, an abalone-innards or soft-shell crab pasta, 6 pieces of sushi, chili chicken karaage, a noodle dish and a drink. We picked the crab-miso soft-shell crab pasta. It's not just raw fish and sushi: fried food and pasta come too, so you get a lot of different flavors, which I liked.

Black sesame porridge to start
The black sesame porridge came out first. It works as an appetizer and gets your appetite going before the meal.

Gapposo's aged sashimi platter
The aged sashimi platter in the set lets you taste several kinds of fish. Gapposo prepares its aged sashimi using things like salt, kelp, soy sauce, miso and rice koji, depending on the fish.

Compared with ordinary sashimi, aged fish has a fun savory depth and chewy texture. With sashimi added to a set that already has sushi and pasta, the whole menu felt even more generous.

Gapposo's 6-piece sushi
The pasta set also includes 6 pieces of sushi. Gapposo offers a variety of sushi made with aged fish, and à la carte there are options like Standard Sushi 19 and Special Sushi 28. This time, since it was a set with many dishes, we got to try sushi and also enjoy pasta and fried food evenly. A sushi lover and a pasta lover could visit together and still find it easy to choose.

Gapposo's chili chicken karaage
The chili chicken karaage in the set is a nice thing to nibble between sushi and sashimi. Crispy fried chicken with a spicy chili sauce gives a different flavor from the clean-tasting raw fish.

With fried food in the same set as the sashimi and sushi, you get a variety of textures throughout the meal.

Crab-miso soft-shell crab pasta that tastes like poo pad pong curry
Gapposo's crab-miso soft-shell crab pasta is ₩26,000 on its own, a pasta with a creamy sauce made from crab innards and Japanese miso. It was the dish I was most curious about in this set.
Unlike an ordinary cream pasta, it has the deep, rich flavor of seafood, and you get a crispy soft-shell crab too. Look at how full of meat the crab is!! T_T I absolutely love poo pad pong curry among Thai dishes, and this was exactly the soft-shell crab feeling I've had there, and it went so well with the pasta!! The vibe is a really calm sushi restaurant, but the pasta is like something from a great brunch place? It felt like catching two birds with one stone, a sharing set for two. haha
What should you order at Gapposo?
Gapposo lets you choose from a variety of dishes depending on why you're visiting. If you want a sushi-focused meal, there's Standard Sushi 19 and Special Sushi 28.

If you want sashimi and seafood, try the aged sashimi platter or the Lunch Omakase.

If you want to eat a variety of dishes together, there's the sharing set for two that includes pasta.

Especially if two of you are visiting, sharing a set and splitting several dishes like we did seems like a good choice.

I liked that the pasta set let us taste a bit of everything, and next time I'd like to try the kaisendon and unagidong that I haven't had yet! If you're looking for a Gasan Digital Complex lunch spot or a sushi place, I recommend Gapposo :)
