Why I looked for a dedicated kids’ shampoo instead of an all-in-one wash

My oldest has atopic skin. Since she has sensitive skin, her younger siblings naturally use the products their big sister uses too. We always washed them from head to toe with all-in-one products used by children with atopic skin.

But as they got older, I learned that their sebaceous glands develop and they have more hair, so they need a product that works as shampoo on its own rather than an all-in-one wash. To be honest, I worried a lot about what shampoo to use as my oldest’s hair suddenly became much thicker. So without thinking to look for a standalone shampoo, we used the atopic all-in-one wash every day and adult shampoo once a week.

My oldest does well on her own, and my second and third do a good job washing their hair and bodies with a little help from their big sister. Usually, when Mom tells them to wash up together, they come out all clean and only need a little help brushing their teeth. But if shampoo gets in their eyes while my oldest is helping them, they end up calling for Mom.

After all, when their eyes sting a little, it is hard for my oldest to remove the suds as quickly as Mom can... So I thought I should soon find a kids’ shampoo that would not sting their eyes, and looked for a gentle one that even a child with atopic skin could use. After trying it, it was great for the kids, and now they no longer call for Mom when washing their hair~^-^

The all-in-one wash was made for atopic skin, but it stung the youngest’s eyes a little, so she disliked washing her hair every time. But after using this product once, she found that it did not sting her eyes and seemed to feel she could manage on her own—she started washing her hair by herself quite well.

Actually, the reason my oldest helps wash her second and third siblings’ hair is that they do not remove all the foam perfectly. I hear that adults need to rinse shampoo suds out thoroughly too. But because all-in-one products are not dedicated kids’ shampoos, they can sting the eyes a bit, and you need to remove the foam well. This product, though, is said not to leave residue.

Of course, my oldest still helps her siblings rinse their hair, but I think the fact that they can all shampoo their own hair now is thanks to this gentle kids’ shampoo that does not sting their eyes.

My oldest turned on the shower and leisurely washed and rinsed her hair all by herself.

My second is a child who comes fully equipped with clinginess and cuteness.. When I asked, “Shall we try washing your hair by yourself?”... haha, she said, “Big sis, do it for me~”

With her big sister’s help, my second finished everything from washing to rinsing her hair with the kids’ shampoo~ The scent is gentle and soft, so the joy of Mom smelling the top of her child’s head is doubled~ haha
