In short
Daroa Dongbu Market Branch is a café and budget food shop in Jungnang, Seoul, near Jungnang Station. I bought chicken, snacks, and Hanwoomul gukbap for 17,900 won, and the crisp, savory chicken was delicious shared with my family. Daroa at the entrance to Dongbu Market
There are so many markets in my neighborhood~ Of them all, Dongbu Market near Jungnang Station is my favorite, so I visited Daroa, which sells tasty chicken and bread at low prices. The shop name is so cute too..

It is not far from the entrance to Dongbu Market, so you can find it without getting lost. It is open daily from 11:00 to 20:00 and closed every Tuesday!

With its bright yellow sign and interior, there is no way you could miss it from afar!

Burgers and chicken from ₩2,000
These days, even hamburgers cost close to ₩10,000, but Daroa burgers start at ₩2,000. A set is ₩3,500—less than the price of one roll of gimbap (seaweed rice roll)!!

The sign says it is a model of a whole, generously filled chicken, and when I got close and smelled it, it really smelled like chicken! There are tables where you can sit and take a short break, too.
Once inside, I found all sorts of products displayed in this small space! Shall we take a look one by one?

First, the burger and chicken menu! Chicken is incredibly expensive these days, right? But basic chicken here is ₩9,900, and you can enjoy seasoned chicken, kataifi fried shrimp, and more at very low prices.

Fresh-baked bread and affordable desserts
This is Daroa's bread corner. ₩1,500 for one piece of bread—is that for real? And they give you discounts when you buy more, so it is seriously so affordable...

They say it tastes even better because it is baked in-house. Ten for ₩10,000... and the bread is not tiny, either. Truly prices straight from the old days!

There are lots of kinds of bread, right? I wanted to buy a few, but I wanted chicken more, so I ordered chicken instead of bread.

This is the space selling desserts that give you a dopamine rush. Kataifi desserts may be a little past their trend now, but they were being sold at really low prices.

Dusocho (Dubai cotton candy chocolate), normally ₩5,300, was just ₩1,000!!! I could not not buy it, so I grabbed one right away. Boneless galbitang (beef short-rib soup) was ₩3,000, and it looked perfect to stock up on at home for days when there are no side dishes.
They also sell premium olive oil, lemon juice, and all kinds of drinks. And here is the surprising part... Mogu Mogu was only ₩1,000! I bought this immediately too.

Filling my basket in the frozen-food corner
Here is Daroa's frozen-food corner~ There are retort foods on display, and the Hanwoomul gukbap (rice soup) varieties I love and often buy were ₩1,900—far cheaper than the lowest online price. Into my basket they went!

They are running an event too, so do give it a try! I ended up signing up for membership as if I were under a spell..

Under the register, they were selling boxes of cat cookies for the astonishing price of ₩1,000. I cannot resist cute cat cookies... so I put one in my basket.

Summer is over, but they also sell delicious pineapple sherbet. This would be perfect for curing a hangover... If the weather had been hotter, I think I would have bought it!

There is a chicken burger set too, so you can get an already affordable meal for even less! When I visited, quite a few people were actually buying this set, you know?

₩17,900 of groceries and crispy chicken
Here is my haul after picking out all sorts of things. I bought this much, and it was really ₩17,900—can you believe it?
When I opened the chicken at home, there was more than I expected! The smell made the trip home tortureㅠㅠ
You should not dismiss it just because it is cheap. It was crispy and savory, an absolutely perfect beer snack.

You can feel the crispiness even in the photo, right? My family and I shared it deliciously.

Two kinds of Hanwoomul gukbap that I absolutely adore!! Oh, right—when I bought four, they discounted them to ₩5,000. Four would normally be around ₩8,000, so how much of a discount was that... I paid about ₩1,250 each. Such a low price made me happy all over again!

Cute butter cookies and Mogu Mogu, which my child loves—today's shopping was such a satisfying haul🩷
