Looking for a Yongin BBQ spot where you just show up empty-handed?
La Grills Self BBQ (라그릴스 셀프바베큐) is a self-service BBQ place in Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, where you can grill meat in your own tent without bringing gear or shopping for groceries. The weather has been so good every weekend that I just wanted to get outside! I want the camping mood, but honestly, thinking about packing everything, grocery shopping, and washing up afterward makes me tired before I even start... it's not just me, right? So this time I looked for a place where you really can just show up, and went to La Grills Self BBQ, a well-known BBQ spot in Yongin.

La Grills Self BBQ has the BBQ itself and a well-built kids' play room inside, too. Here's my honest review from the visit!

When you go out to eat on the weekend, parking trouble stresses you out from the start, but La Grills Self BBQ has a very large private parking area right in front, so I had zero parking worries.

It's a little outside the city center, so it's a perfect drive-out change of scenery.
How private are the individual tents at La Grills?
Each BBQ unit at La Grills Self BBQ is its own separate tent, so it's a private space just for your group. The private tent vibe is amazing..!

As soon as I arrived I saw the neat rows of individual BBQ units, and they were much prettier and more atmospheric than I expected! The best part was that it's a completely separate space that's just ours.

At regular restaurants these days the next table is often noisy, or you feel self-conscious, but in the La Grills tent it was just us, chatting and eating cozily, so I was really satisfied.

The inside of the tent was kept clean, and the chairs and table were set up so you can sit comfortably for a long time. I liked even more that the structure lets you enjoy BBQ cozily without being affected by the weather.

On top of that, high chairs are provided, so it's perfect for visiting with kids.
Can you go with kids? La Grills' indoor play room
La Grills Self BBQ has a separate indoor kids' play room. Full marks for thoughtfulness! Looking around the place, the 'kids' play room' was what made me happiest! Outdoor BBQ places are usually all about the grilling area, so there often isn't much for kids to do, but...

La Grills has a well-equipped indoor play area where kids and visitors can relax and have fun.
An honest review of La Grills' meat quality and self-bar
At La Grills Self BBQ you see and pick the meat, packed by cut, at the shop's butcher counter and grill it yourself, and the meat was fresher and better than I expected. However nice the atmosphere is, it's upsetting if the meat isn't good, right? But it turns out this place isn't called a top Yongin BBQ spot for nothing.

The meat at the shop's butcher counter is packed fresh by cut, so you can see it with your own eyes and choose what you want, and the quality was fresher and better than I expected.

The self-bar was neatly stocked too, from side items like lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, kimchi and ssamjang (dipping paste) to all kinds of sauces, so you can take as much as you need.

There are lots of snacks too, which would be perfect when you're craving a little dessert!
Anything tastes great over charcoal... BBQ time at La Grills
At La Grills Self BBQ you grill the meat yourself on a heated charcoal grill, and the strong heat cooked it nicely golden brown. What a heavenly combo of a BBQ time!

You know that charcoal smell the moment the meat hits the hot grill...?

The strong heat locks in the juices while grilling it golden brown, and wrapping a piece of the nicely drained meat in a lettuce wrap, I thought, "Ah, this is why we come outdoors."

With a glass of soju too, it was pure healing ⁺˚⋆。°✩₊
La Grills Self BBQ verdict and visiting tips
- Who it's for: people who can't be bothered to shop and prepare but still want camping vibes and a meat party!

When you want to escape the stuffy city, eat good meat and recharge, I strongly recommend La Grills Self BBQ, a top Yongin BBQ spot!
