Anseong bakery café for LP music and chewy Dubai cookies: Chat Baker

I came to Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café (챗 베이커 브런치 & 베이커리 카페), a large café in Anseong that I had heard so much about for its delicious bread and pretty interior. It is near Lotte Mart, and the parking lot is huge.

A floating bonsai tree and an LP concept

As soon as I walked in, I was surprised by the bonsai tree floating in the air. A flying bonsai tree?? I could instantly tell this was a café that had put a lot of thought into its interior! It was so fascinating. From the second floor, it is a total photo spot! I think it would be great for Instagram too.

There is a rug shaped like an LP record on the floor. The concept connecting it to the LPs upstairs was unique. And I really liked the music playing in the café ^^ It was mostly gentle music rather than K-pop, which suited the atmosphere so well and felt calming.

A wide range of bread made and baked fresh every day

There was such a wide variety of bread. This is a real bakery café where they make the dough from scratch and bake it in-store every day, so you can see fresh bread coming out—and above all, it is really delicious.

The loaves smelled so good that I packed some to take home even though I was full! They have milk bread and corn bread.

Drip coffee and brunch dishes

The menu is varied too. My companion loves drip coffee, and it was nice that there were several kinds here. We had the Haeng Signature Blend, and it was exactly my taste: not too acidic, pleasantly nutty and delicious, with a lovely aroma. They also make their own fruit syrups, so I think it would be a great place for both coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers.

Apparently, all drinks are 30 percent off when you order a brunch dish!! I wondered if it was famous for spaghetti because so many people were ordering it, but it would be really nice to come in the morning for brunch. The atmosphere is lovely, so it would be great for dates or moms' gatherings too.

They also offer generous bread samples. You have to be confident in the flavor to give out samples, and the bread here really is delicious.

A sunlit second floor and many seating options

As I was about to go upstairs, water suddenly began splashing down the windows. I looked and realized it was not rain—it was being sprayed by the café. Water periodically runs down the windows, and it created such an atmosphere. The staircase up to the second floor is pretty too, so it seems many people take photos there.

Once upstairs, I saw that the interior had been done really well. Cozy sunlight went beautifully with the green-and-white décor, and a white moon jar made a lovely focal point.

There is a piano and LP records too—a café that is serious about music.

There are raised floor seats, which I think would be nice for letting children lie down. You know how helpful raised floor seating is when children are little. With so many different table options, it is easy for people of all ages to use.

Salt bread, chewy Dubai cookies, and carrot juice

I ordered coffee, carrot juice, salt bread, a dujjonku (chewy Dubai chocolate cookie), and pain au chocolat. Even if the dujjonku trend is over, I am still someone who keeps eating them, haha. As someone who eats about five a month, this dujjonku wins hands-down on size! It is really big. The outer layer is thin and chewy—not tough, but soft and chewy. I was very satisfied. Inside, there was lots of crispy kataifi to chew through. So nutty.

The carrot juice did not taste store-bought; it tasted as if it had been freshly pressed. It was the kind of taste that made me wonder, Did they peel whole carrots themselves? I drank it healthily and happily. Even its color looked refreshing.

I heard this place was known for salt bread, and we really did finish it in no time. It is not salt bread with an overpowering butter flavor; the bread itself and its clean flavor are beautifully balanced. I wondered if they use particularly good flour. It was not rich or heavy, just delicious. And while eating the pain au chocolat, I thought, They do chocolate well here, so next time I will try their other chocolate breads too.

A café made even more impressive by attentive care

Chat Baker, the large café in Pyeongtaek, Anseong, and Gongdo, is as good as people say. It is a lovely café where the interior, music, coffee, and bread are all excellent. I definitely want to return, and I can confidently recommend it!

And while I was upstairs for quite a while, what stood out most was the staff member cleaning: they kept working so meticulously, diligently, and kindly. They worked as though it were their own shop—to the point where I wondered if they were the owner's parents—watching over guests, recommending good seats when needed, appearing everywhere to sweep, wipe, and clean, then coming back from the restroom after washing a cloth. I was touched by how hard they worked. The staff downstairs were kind as well. Maybe the bread tastes so good and the atmosphere is so lovely because there are staff members who take such dedicated care of the café ^^ I hope it continues to thrive.
