Haenggung-dong, Suwon blind-date course with egg mayo bouquet: Hado
In short
Hado (HADO) is a course-meal restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Paldal-gu, Suwon, with a CD player on every table so diners can play the album they want while they eat. The writer and her boyfriend ordered Hado's basic course for two and tried carbonara, squid ink pasta, a chicken breast sous vide steak, a top blade steak swapped in for 18,000 won extra, and Earl Grey ice cream. Hado is a Suwon course restaurant where the music stays with you as much as the food, a good fit for a blind date or date night.

It wasn't a special day, but I just wanted a meal that would make me feel good 🤍 I was looking for a nice-atmosphere restaurant in Suwon and ended up at Hado (HADO). I heard you can have a course meal at a fairly easy price, and every dish felt so carefully made that I was soooo.. satisfied ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ )!
Hado location, hours and parking
Hado is at 138 Hyanggyo-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, on the 1st floor, and it's open daily 11:00-21:00 (break time 15:00-16:00). You can reserve through Catch Table or Naver, and birthday/anniversary perks and group visits are available too.

Hado is a clean, stylish restaurant that suits a date or an anniversary meal!! Parking is no worry either, which I love..🩶 You can use the Gyodong Public Parking Lot right next to the restaurant: the first hour is free, then it's ₩300 per 10 minutes, so keep that in mind 🚗

Is Hado's atmosphere good for a blind date?
Inside, Hado feels calm and cozy overall!! The tables are spaced fairly roomy, so I wasn't bothered by conversations at the next table, and the soft lighting made it easy to focus on the meal, hehe. Besides blind dates, dates and anniversary meals, it looked good for a nice dinner with friends too 🧚🏻 There are coat hangers and blankets as well!

A CD player on every table
What impressed me most while looking around was the CD player on every table 🎶 These days most of us listen to music on our phones, so this analog touch feels even more special.. ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ You pick any album you like from the CDs on display at one side of the restaurant and play it yourself, and listening to music you love while you eat was honestly pretty romantic..🤍
If you came on a blind date, it seems like a natural way to keep the conversation going with "What kind of music do you like?", and on a date you can share your favorite singers and music tastes over the meal, which would make it even more special haha

Hado basic course for two: what we chose
We ordered the Hado basic course for two! The order goes 🥗 starter - 🍝 pasta - 🥩 steak - 🍰 dessert.
- Pasta: carbonara and squid ink pasta
- Steak: 1 chicken breast sous vide steak
- Steak: 1 swapped to a top blade steak for ₩18,000 extra

Hado sells its own signature wine too haha. If you join the receipt review event, they give you a takeout <Rooibos Apple Lemon> tea after your meal.

The cutlery has a thoughtful little flower-shaped accent… 🌸♥ So pretty, right? Watching them prepare everything made me look forward to the food even more..🤍

Starter: bouquet-like egg mayo and crispy rice paper
The first plate of the Hado course is a starter that wakes up your appetite before the real meal!! The look is just crazy… 🥺🤍 It's a light way to begin, so it was a perfect start to the course.

So pretty, like a bouquet… The flower part tasted like egg mayo, and what held it up was brown rice paper, I think? The texture was crunchy and the combination was great.

Carbonara: thick cream, egg yolk and salty cured meat
The carbonara I picked at Hado was close to the classic version! The thick cream and the richness of the yolk come through strongly, yet it wasn't overly heavy or greasy, which I liked. The noodles were cooked just right and every bite had a deep flavor 🥺 The pasta itself was a little mild? But eaten with the salt-cured meat on top, the combination was sooo good..

Squid ink pasta: light, salty, my boyfriend's pick
Hado's squid ink pasta, the looks are all so good, right••• You get that deep, rich squid ink flavor, but it was lighter and less overwhelming than I expected!! And a bit salty haha. It was my boyfriend's pick.

So thick and rich it's the very definition of it ㅜㅜ I want to go eat it again..♥

Hado steak: chicken breast sous vide and the top blade swap
Is the chicken breast sous vide steak dry?
Hado's chicken breast sous vide steak was not dry at all. Honestly, I thought chicken breast would be a bit dry? But maybe because it's cooked sous vide (slow-cooked in a water bath), it was really tender. It was so moist I didn't even think of it as chicken breast! A great pick if you like it light 🤍
The sous vide chicken breast steak cuts so softly 🤤 Eaten with the purée it was really delicious haha
The top blade steak for ₩18,000 extra
The top blade steak is what we swapped in from the basic course for ₩18,000 extra! Bonus: they pour the sauce right at the table..♥ The sauce was something like a red wine vinegar sauce?

Hado's top blade steak, which we paid extra to swap in, had a real main-dish presence from the first look 🥺 It was cooked to a moderate doneness with a faint pink cross-section, and when I took a bite it chewed tender, not tough, with a savory meaty aroma spreading slowly 🤍!!

The flavor filling my mouth was so good that I ate slowly to savor it. The shishito peppers and roasted carrot garnish served alongside also seemed to bring out the steak's flavor even more! Add the smooth potato purée 🥔 and the balance of flavors on one plate was really great..♥

Hado dessert: Earl Grey ice cream with crumble
The Hado course ends with Earl Grey ice cream 🍨 It was nice to finish on something sweet after a filling meal. I think a course meal isn't complete unless the last dessert is good too, and this was a happy ending!!

The Earl Grey ice cream was so good that my boyfriend and I ate it with wide eyes, hehe 😛 The combination with the crumble underneath was sooo good.

Paying at Hado: card on the coaster
At Hado you place your card on the round coaster at your seat, which has the review event printed on it 💳 and a staff member comes over to take payment..! And along with the receipt, they hand you a mouthwash stick, such a thoughtful touch 🫢
When to go to Hado
I heard "Hado" means "underdrawing (a rough sketch)"! It felt less like just a place to eat and more like a space to slowly enjoy good food, music and time with the person you're with 🎶🤍 I'd recommend it for blind dates, dates and anniversaries, and also for a day when you want to make an ordinary day a little special ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ ) 💭
