Terrace pub by Bangi Station: pale ale and fried gizzards at Hope So
In short
Hope So (홉쏘) is a wood-fired pizza and pasta pub near Bangi Station in Bangi-dong, Songpa, Seoul, with a two-level interior and an outdoor terrace. The writer stopped by Hope So for drinks after dinner, ordering draft pale ale with fried chicken gizzards and fries (20,000 won), and says the mood changed completely once the big windows folded open after sunset. Hope So is a good Bangi-dong pick for a casual draft beer in an open, airy setting.

What is Hope So near Bangi Station like?
Hope So (홉쏘) is a pub near Bangi Station known for its wood-fired pizza and pasta. The shop has two levels, and the open, airy space gives it a festival-like vibe that goes well with beer. They recently opened an outdoor terrace too, so on a nice day you can enjoy good food and draft beer with even more atmosphere.

With both an indoor space and a terrace, Hope So works well for dates or get-togethers, and from the moment I walked in it felt comfortable yet stylish.

Hope So opening hours and parking
Hope So is at 21 Wiryeseong-daero 18-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and it is open from 16:00 until 01:00 the next day (last order at 00:00). It's closed every Sunday!
The restrooms are separate for men and women! For parking, use the public lot right in front of the shop. It's the Wirye-seong-gil public parking lot, across from Olympic Park.

Is there a wait at Hope So on a weekend evening?
Already full, crazy,,,,
When I visited around 6 to 7 pm on a weekend, the tables were already almost all taken by group gatherings. We'd had dinner first and came for a light second round of draft beer, and after they cleared a table we waited about 10 minutes for one of the remaining seats. It really made me think, "wow, Hope So really is popular." Maybe because it was the weekend, I saw lots of families too.
Maybe because the overall mood was so good, it felt relaxed and easygoing, like being out on a picnic!

The two-level layout makes the shop look much bigger! Even with lots of people, it never felt chaotic, like, crazy-hectic. It's open and fresh overall, a space where you can stay comfortably.

What's on the Hope So menu, and what discounts are there?
Hope So's Today's Pasta is a weekday menu that changes daily, at ₩14,900, and you need to come exactly between 17:00 and 19:00. On top of that, you get ₩5,000 off the nachos if you leave a Naver receipt photo review and order 2 Asahi beers, and there are really plenty of good deals like this.

One thing I thought was clever: the Hope So menu is split into two sections, "I'm hungry" or "I'm full." If you're visiting for a second round like us, I recommend the simple snack items on the "I'm full" side.

What's the Hope So terrace like at sunset?
Great natural light here too!
Once the scorching sun goes down, Hope So switches to having the terrace open. When the huge windows fold back, it definitely feels more open, and with a cool breeze added, the whole mood was completely different.

Tipsy on tasty draft beer and food, with the atmosphere and music perfect too, we lost track of time on our evening date!

Fried gizzards & fries with draft pale ale
For our second-round snack, we ordered Hope So's fried chicken gizzards (dakttongjip) & fries (₩20,000).

The draft beer was the pale ale (Korean, 5%)! It had a light bitterness, lots of tropical fruit notes and a floral aroma, and was rich yet clean. It was so good from the first sip that the beer just kept going down smoothly~

Is Hope So worth going back to?
The atmosphere at Hope So is so good overall that we kept ordering more drinks and snacks. It's great for a cozy date, for a family meal out, and as a place to chat comfortably with friends, so I'd recommend Hope So again and again.
I'd go back 200%!
