Today's spot is 88 Nogari Bangi Branch, in the Bangi dining alley near Jamsil. We'd already had dinner elsewhere and came here as our second stop — the place turned out to be huge!!

You get up there via the stairs right next to the entrance!! The first floor is a different restaurant, so it's worth keeping that in mind so you don't get confused :)

There's a big signboard out front — apparently the 2nd floor is regular seating, the 3rd floor is a Doosan Bears viewing zone, and the 4th floor is a rooftop.

Alright, shall we head up the stairs and into the store?? haha

Before you go in, there's a menu board posted outside, so it's nice to glance at it and pick what you want beforehand ☺️

As mentioned, it's 2F regular seating, 3F Doosan Bears viewing zone, and 4F rooftop zone!!

The self-serve snack bar: chips, ramyeon and ice cream

The moment you walk into 88 Nogari Bangi Branch, the snack bar is the first thing you see. It has that old-school corner store vibe.

The snack bar has chips, a station for hot water, and what looks like an ice cream corner.

It was packed with chips perfect for pairing with drinks, and there were so many types of ramyeon it was hard to decide which one to grab haha

There was a good variety of ice cream too, and frozen Homerun Balls were a total win in my book.

Now let's head further inside.

2nd-floor seating, self-serve drinks and tablet ordering

True to a beer bar, the walls were lined with all kinds of bottles, and it was great to see Kirin Ichiban draft was ₩1,000 off!!

At 88 Nogari, you grab whatever drink you want yourself — no waiting around, you can just go get it whenever you feel like it 👍🏻

The retro-style signs scattered around the place seem to add a lot to the interior too.

Seating is basically arranged in 4-person tables

and the center tables can be pushed together, so group bookings are possible too!!

You order via the tablet PC sitting on the table.

And there's music playing nonstop at 88 Nogari — if you submit a song request slip on the table, they'll play it for you, so if there's a song you want to hear, it's worth writing it down.

What we ordered at 88 Nogari Bangi Branch and what it cost

• Dried pollack + octopus leg (or semi-dried squid) ₩27,000
• Cup ramyeon ₩2,000
• Kirin draft ₩6,900

Here's the setup they bring out before the food arrives!! Do you know the chicken-leg-shaped crackers? Salty and crunchy, they make such a good side snack.

Dried pollack with octopus legs or semi-dried squid, 27,000 won

This is our main order — dried pollack (meoktae). True to the name 88 Nogari, the pollack is the star here, and can you see the portion? It's genuinely huge lol.

Dipped in the cheongyang chili mayo sauce that came with it, it couldn't have been more perfect lolololol

On top of the pollack we also ordered the octopus leg as part of the set — the octopus legs looked thick and plump, really appetizing!!

Cut into bite-sized pieces like this, dipped in the same cheongyang chili mayo, the chewy, springy texture really let the octopus flavor come through.

Self-serve cup ramyeon, 2,000 won

I was craving the ramyeon we'd seen at the snack bar earlier, so we ordered a cup ramyeon too — this one you prepare yourself.

It would've been nice if there was Shin Ramyeon, but as our second choice we went with yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) flavor.

You all know ramyeon is the best thing to eat when you're feeling greasy from the food, right?? hahaha

Kirin Ichiban draft beer, 6,900 won

With all the food set up, time for that Kirin Ichiban draft we mentioned earlier. At ₩6,900 a glass, the price isn't bad at all.

Clinking glasses like this washes away all the day's fatigue. Such a happy day ☺️☺️

Is 88 Nogari Bangi Branch a good second stop in Bangi-dong?

With the dried pollack set, Kirin draft, and cup ramyeon on the side, 88 Nogari Bangi Branch takes the guesswork out of picking side dishes!! Going from a bite of pollack straight into a bite of ramyeon is such a good combo — worth keeping in mind when you're looking for a Bangi-dong beer bar to chat comfortably with friends :)
