When my father's birthday came around, I was trying to figure out what cake to get. Since he loves mango, I decided on a mango cake and started searching — and that's how I ended up visiting 'Siznique Shinsegae Department Store Daegu Branch,' famous as a Daegu cake spot, so I'm writing this review 😆😆

What is Siznique's Farm Warreu fruit cake series?

As you can tell just from the menu, this was originally developed by Siznique.

The "Farm Overflow series"

uses fresh seasonal fruit 🍓🍑🥭🍈 that changes with the season, with a visual that looks like it's spilling over 🤩✨, apparently offering an even more unique moment for special occasions!!

Visiting Siznique at 4pm on a weekend: what cakes were left?

When I arrived at Siznique Shinsegae Department Store Daegu Branch around 4pm on a weekend, there weren't many cake types left. If you have a specific cake in mind, I'd definitely recommend going early in the morning ‼️

I arrived at 'Shinsegae Department Store Daegu Branch' on my father's actual birthday to buy the cake!!

'Siznique' is in the Sweet Park once you go down to the basement floor of Shinsegae Department Store Daegu 💛 I went around 4pm on a weekend so there weren't many types left 🥲 but if you have a cake in mind, I'd recommend going early in the morning ‼️

Siznique mango and peach cake prices

Siznique's signature Mango Farm Overflow was ₩60,000, Floral Peach (No. 1) ₩48,000, the Mango Tower Cake was ₩53,000 for No. 1 and ₩39,000 for mini, and the Mango Cream Basque was ₩29,000. When I went, only one Floral Peach was left of the peach cakes.

Still, since I just needed a mango cake, I was relieved it wasn't sold out 😮‍💨

It's peach season right now so there's a peach cake too, but since I went late, I didn't get to see the actual Peach Farm Overflow in person 😅

Floral Peach (No. 1), ₩48,000 — when I went, this was the only peach cake left!! It really is popular since it's peach season 😳😳

Mango Tower Cake at Siznique: No. 1 size vs mini

Mango Tower Cake (No. 1), ₩53,000 — apparently the No. 1 size uses 4 whole mangoes!! 🥭🥭🥭🥭

Mango Tower Cake (Mini), ₩39,000 — even though it's mini, it apparently still uses 3 whole mangoes!! 🥭🥭🥭

No. 1 size on the left / mini size on the right — placing them side by side, the size difference is pretty noticeable, right?! 😉

Mango Cream Basque, ₩29,000 — this one's the same size as the mini, but it just has mango on top, and underneath isn't a cake sponge but basque cheesecake!! 🧀

Why the mango cream basque suited a father who dislikes sweets

What I finally picked at Siznique Shinsegae Department Store Daegu Branch was the Mango Cream Basque at ₩29,000. That's because while my father can't handle much sugar, he does love and eat basque cheesecake well.

How well did Siznique's insulated bag hold up over 30 minutes?

Since it takes about 30 minutes to get home, I asked Siznique for an insulated bag, and they packed it neatly with 2 ice packs tucked into either side of the box. Even in hot weather, it arrived exactly as displayed, without a single thing out of place.

Thanks to the ice packs and insulated bag, it made it home exactly as displayed even in the hot weather 🥹 And with the gold leaf decoration on top, isn't it just so luxurious and pretty⁉️🍰✨

Cutting the mango cream basque: how it tasted

Even though the Mango Cream Basque was mini-sized, cutting into it revealed a generous amount of mango. The basque was soft and moist, and the mango was well-ripened and sweet.

I stuck in a heart-shaped candle I bought separately at the shop to blow out for the birthday~🎂❤️

My father loved the look of it so much and happily blew out the birthday candle 🌬️🕯️💛

After blowing out the candle, it was time to cut the cake

Wow.....😳😳 Even looking at it again, the mango amount is generous even though it's a small size 🥭🥭

The basque underneath was super soft, moist and delicious 🍰, and the mango was so well-ripened and sweet — it was seriously delicious 😋😋
