Giheung Chinese spot, rich unsweetened jjajang: Doseogwan Dwitjip

Doseogwan Dwitjip (도서관뒷집) is a Chinese restaurant right behind Cheongdeok Library in Giheung-gu, Yongin, with an interior decorated with books and comics. The writer had a large old-style jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork): the jjajang sauce had no sweetness and a deep chunjang (black bean paste) flavor, the house-made noodles were thin and springy, and the tangsuyuk pork was thick. If you want old-style jjajang that isn't sweet, Doseogwan Dwitjip is a great fit.

Suwon café for salt bread that stays crunchy cold: Café Meomureum

Café Meomureum (카페 머무름) is a café that bakes its own bread, on the second floor of an apartment shopping complex in Jeongja-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon. The writer came back to Café Meomureum with no other plans, just for the salt bread and avocado banana juice, and was satisfied again: the salt bread was crunchy enough to crackle when bitten, even after it had cooled. If you want a café in Jeongja-dong, Suwon that does salt bread well, Café Meomureum is a sure bet.
