Geuttaegeujip (그때그집) is a 24-hour Korean BBQ restaurant in Uijeongbu Sinsigaji (new town), Gyeonggi, near Exit 1 of Uijeongbu Station on the light rail, and has been in business for over 20 years. At Geuttaegeujip, a spot the writer's boyfriend used to visit with coworkers after dawn shifts, the writer ordered 2 servings of raw Korean pork (Handon) belly and a kimchi stew, and liked the pork belly eaten with chives and the mild, refreshing old-style kimchi stew. Geuttaegeujip is a good Uijeongbu Korean BBQ for a hearty meat meal, even late at night.

Baedagol Bakery House is a garden-style bakery café set in the woods near Wondang in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. On a friend's recommendation, the writer ordered 3 iced Americanos (6,000 won each), a fresh mango cake slice (10,000 won) and a scallion cream cheese bagel (8,000 won), then explored Baedagol Bakery House's forest-like first floor and its second-floor rooms and terrace. Thanks to a cake slice packed with fresh mango and its garden views, Baedagol Bakery House is a café near Ilsan worth returning to.

Crab buffet by Samneung Station, Goyang: mild spicy crab, Deodeo

Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil (더더간장게장무한리필) is an all-you-can-eat soy sauce crab (ganjang gejang) and spicy marinated crab (yangnyeom gejang) restaurant on Wondang-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, right in front of the Samneung Station bus stop. The writer, who can't handle spicy food, had the all-you-can-eat set (24,900 won per person) with her mom and, trying spicy marinated crab for the first time instead of her usual soy crab, finished a whole plate because it was sweet and not spicy. Verdict: with not-too-salty soy crab and crab stew, Deodeo Ganjanggejang Muhalliripil keeps its refills consistently good, making it a solid spot for a family meal.
