Suwon restaurant: Sunday barley risotto by a 2F window, Kueodeukkutteu
In short
Kueodeukkutteu is a Western and brunch restaurant in a two-story brick building on Sinpung-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. On a Sunday around 4:30 PM, the writer parked in front of Kueodeukkutteu, opened the window at a 2F window seat and ate shrimp rosé pasta (17,000 won) and the barley-based Manjo truffle pea risotto (19,000 won). Kueodeukkutteu has no break time, and arriving around 4 PM means a quiet meal with a view out the window.

What is Kueodeukkutteu in Haenggung-dong like at 4:30 PM on a Sunday?
I visited Kueodeukkutteu (쿠어드꾸뜨) in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, around 4:30 PM on a Sunday, and it was quieter than I expected, which was great. Parking is always my worry when I go to Haenggung-dong, but this day I got lucky, parked right in front, and had a relaxed meal. 😊 By the time I left, quite a lot of customers were coming in.
It's a really lovely place to visit on a day like these, with the windows wide open and a breeze drifting in! The view outside was pretty and the food was good, so this Haenggung-dong restaurant stuck with me.

Kueodeukkutteu interior and the 2F window seats
The building caught my eye right from the outside. It's a brick building with that distinctive Haenggung-dong charm, and it has an outdoor terrace too, so on a nice day it would be lovely for a relaxed meal with that Haenggung-dong café-terrace feel.

It runs over two floors, 1F and 2F, and I sat at a 2F window seat.

The windows are big, so it doesn't feel stuffy at all, and I could eat while looking out at the Haenggung-dong alley.

With the window open, a gentle breeze came drifting in. The view outside was so gorgeous that I kept taking photos, haha. This is a total photo spot, right here. Haha.

Overall it's a cozy space, with wood-tone interiors and warm lighting. The 2F has terrace tables too. Hehe.

It looked good for a date and also fine for brunch with friends. Dogs are allowed too, so it's a nice place to come with your pup.

How does the shrimp rosé pasta (17,000 won) taste?

The shrimp rosé pasta at Kueodeukkutteu looked so appetizing from the first glance. The rosé sauce had soaked deep into the noodles, and the sauce thickness was just right, so I enjoyed it to the very end.

Best of all, the shrimp were bigger than I expected, which made me happy! The springy shrimp and smooth rosé sauce worked well together, and the seasoning wasn't overdone, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.

Personally, I think people who like thick, rich rosé pasta will be satisfied.
Barley-based Manjo truffle pea risotto (19,000 won)
My number one pick from this meal at Kueodeukkutteu was the Manjo truffle pea risotto. 😍

This risotto isn't made with regular rice but with barley, and I loved the pop you get with every bite. It's cream-based but not greasy, and goes down smoothly.

The steak on top was a generous portion too, and it was cooked medium rare, so it was really tender. It's good on its own, and even better eaten together with the risotto. The truffle aroma wasn't overpowering either, so the balance was good. The combination of soft risotto and juicy steak was very satisfying.
Pickles served with every meal

It's a small thing, but the pickles came out neat and nice. They cut the richness and were good to nibble on between bites.
Kueodeukkutteu verdict: what I'll order next time
Kueodeukkutteu has good food, a pretty view and a relaxed atmosphere, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Haenggung-dong date spot with an outdoor-terrace feel. The outdoor space and window seats are appealing, so people who like that Haenggung-dong café-terrace vibe will probably be happy here too. The Manjo truffle pea risotto in particular was so good I'd happily reorder it.
One thing, though: both dishes I ordered were creamy and soft, so next time I think adding the egg in hell or the burrata seasonal fruit salad would balance the textures and flavors better.
If you're worried about weekend parking, there's no break time, so I'd recommend going around 4 PM like I did! If you manage to snag a spot in front, it's such a relief. Haha.
