I'm at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch (바스버거 잠원점) in Jamwon-dong! I mostly eat franchise burgers like McDonald's or Burger King, so a handmade burger was a real treat after a long time. Plenty of reviews said it was delicious, so my expectations were high.
I came for handmade burgers.

Bas Burger Jamwon Branch hours and parking
Bas Burger Jamwon Branch is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with no break time. Drop by whenever suits you!
It's on a side street, so I'd avoid bringing a car if you can. Both dine-in and takeout are available!
How to order and customize at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch
You order at a kiosk. We went with two sets: the Hawaiian burger set and the Double Bas Burger combo set.

Custom orders: pick your sauce, bun and toppings
Since this is a handmade burger place, you can customize each ingredient when you order. Which sauce, which bun, which vegetables and toppings: almost everything can be customized, so you can order something closer to your own taste :)
A clean kitchen, burgers made as soon as you order

The kitchen is clean! Cleanliness matters for burgers too, right? After ordering I was looking around the shop, and the burgers were made right when the order came in.
We ate in rather than taking out, so maybe that's why, but the burgers were nice and warm, and the fries were crispy and hot too. A burger is just best eaten right after it's made... no contest!!
Does Bas Burger Jamwon Branch give free potato chips?
Yes. Bas Burger Jamwon Branch offers potato chips as a free extra, set up so you can take as much as you want.

I've been to all kinds of handmade burger places, but this was the first time one gave out chips for free. Maybe it's because I love potatoes, but I was so grateful... haha. I went back for seconds, gratefully ;)
All the chips you can eat

The chips are set up so you can eat as many as you like. I liked the look of the setup, and since it keeps them warm, I think they tasted even better.
Bas Burger Jamwon Branch seating and atmosphere
The tables are along the side of the shop, and there aren't many.

Honestly, I liked that even more, haha. In the quiet atmosphere you can enjoy good food and chat comfortably, which I loved.

They let you know with a buzzer once your order is ready.
How long is the wait at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch?
It took about 10 to 20 minutes for the burgers to come out. It seems quite a lot of people order here.
Even while we were ordering, a few people were ordering through delivery apps, so you can tell it's popular in the neighborhood haha.
Hawaiian burger set and Double Bas Burger combo set: how do they taste?
The burger sets are finally here!

The Hawaiian burger set and Double Bas Burger combo set we'd been waiting for arrived. That special handmade burger smell you don't get at franchise shops wafted up, and it smelled delicious already haha.
Order plain fries and cheese fries separately
For sides we ordered fries and cheese fries, and I think splitting them like this is the way to go. The portions are big... hahaha! So ordering two different versions works well!!
If you like handmade burgers, you have to try this.

Hawaiian burger
The Hawaiian burger divides people! Some can't accept cooked pineapple at all... haha, you know the type, right?? I like it a lot. I love the sweetness, and it really is a great match, so it was delicious. The moment I ate it I understood why it's marked as a popular item on the kiosk!
Double Bas Burger
The Double Bas Burger has two beef patties! This is the textbook handmade burger. With double the meat, I think it's perfect for meat lovers.
After trying these two, I was sure that whichever burger you order at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch, the basics will be solid. Really delicious... haha. It's exactly what I picture when I think of a handmade burger!
How many sauces does Bas Burger Jamwon Branch have?
There are as many as 5 sauces you can add to your burger! Just ask the staff and they'll give them to you.

We drizzled a little of each onto our burgers to taste them all, and the sauce definitely makes a huge difference. I thought it was curious that they give burger sauces separately, but after trying them I got it right away... haha.
Crispy fries in a generous portion
The fries at Bas Burger Jamwon Branch are crispy and the portion is big, which is great!

I like fries so much that I sometimes buy them on their own, so the big portion made me really happy :)
Handmade burgers really are the best
Bas Burger Jamwon Branch in Jamwon-dong does a really good job. I only tried two flavors, the Hawaiian burger and the Double Bas Burger, but since both were so good, I immediately felt that anything else would be at least above the basics too. There are more I haven't tried, so next time I'll order a different burger :)
