In short
Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork galbi restaurant near Motgol Station in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan. On a return visit, the writer ordered half marinated galbi and half spicy pork galbi at spice level 1, with kimchi muksabal (acorn jelly in chilled broth with kimchi) as a side, a bone soup whose price rises with each order (1,000 won first), and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi is a Daeyeon-dong BBQ spot where both the not-too-sweet, savory marinated galbi and the addictive spicy galbi are worth eating.

Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch (김금자숯불갈비 대연점) is a meat place in Daeyeon-dong that I remembered as tasty and great value from my last visit. I was looking for somewhere to eat meat in Daeyeon-dong and it popped into my head again, so here I am! It's a popular Daeyeon-dong BBQ spot, so it's always full of customers!!

It's right by Motgol Station, so it's easy to find. I'd recommend it for company dinners or gatherings around Daeyeon-dong. Location, flavor, the restaurant itself, it's a great place for a pork galbi group dinner in Daeyeon-dong!
What is the atmosphere like at Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch?

The interior is kept clean and the tables aren't crammed together. The moment I walked in, I smelled that nutty aroma charcoal galbi places have, and the mood was relaxed! It's fine for a family meal and also good for drinks with friends, so it suits anyone searching for a Daeyeon-dong spot to drink too. The menu pairs well with alcohol, and the place isn't too loud or overwhelming, so it's comfortable to eat in, which is why I came back.

Group rooms and the self-bar
Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch has group rooms too, and every time I come there seems to be a team in for a pork galbi group dinner in Daeyeon-dong! The self-bar was also kept very clean and kept getting refilled, which I liked.
What galbi is on the menu at Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi?

On the menu there are 2 kinds of galbi: soy-marinated galbi and spicy galbi~~ We seem to eat both every time we come. They each have their own big charm!! A must for anyone who loves soy-marinated galbi!
Side dishes and kimchi muksabal

The basic side dishes, wrap vegetables and assorted banchan (small side dishes), come out very neatly! My personal favorite is the kimchi muksabal (chilled acorn jelly bowl in kimchi broth) haha. Gulp down a nice cold one to start!!! It's hot out, so it was so refreshing and so good haha.

How much is the bone soup at Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi?
The bone soup (ppyeoguk) goes up in price with each order: ₩1,000 for the first, ₩2,000 for the second, ₩3,000 for the third, and so on. We order it every time we go, and it's amazing value!! It fills you up and the meat is generous, so good haha. Honestly, with just this I can polish off a bowl of rice in no time...!!

How does the charcoal-grilled soy galbi taste?
At Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch we ordered half soy-marinated galbi and half spicy pork galbi. It's a top Daeyeon-dong pork galbi place, so we just went half and half on both!

First we grilled the basic soy galbi. Cooking over charcoal always seems to make it taste better. It isn't just sweet; it has a nicely balanced savory depth, a flavor that keeps coming back to mind, which is why we keep returning.

The more the meat grills, the more the charcoal aroma soaks in gently, and every bite is ~~ so good
The fire is strong too, so the meat cooks quickly. And the smell is killer....!! haha. If you love pork galbi, you have to go. The mood and vibe are great! The meat quality itself is good, so it's delicious.

Eating it with wrap vegetables and side dishes cuts the richness, and it's great with rice too~~~ Tasty meat in a wrap~~ perfect

Can you choose the spice level of the spicy galbi?
For the spicy marinated galbi at Gim Geumja you can choose the spice level, and we usually go with level 1 haha. It's seriously addictive, so we order it every time we come!!! Sweet and spicy at once, so addictive and you keep reaching for more~~~

Think of the spicy galbi as gochujang (red chili paste) charcoal galbi. If you're looking for a meat place in Daeyeon-dong for a meal and drinks in one, I highly recommend it!!! The meat is chewy~~ and the marinade is tasty, so you keep eating haha. The flavor of charcoal-grilled pork galbi is very satisfying! The marinade soaks into the meat, and the spiciness keeps it from getting boring, so it's a taste you keep thinking about!

Finishing the meat with doenjang jjigae
After the meat at Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi we finished with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). Doenjang jjigae after meat is the golden rule~~~~~ We ordered the hearty, savory stew too haha. It smells savory and is so good.

It's packed with ingredients too. Mixed into white rice, it's honestly amazing...!!
