Dalmatian Starfield Suwon: a dog-friendly steak restaurant in Starfield Suwon

To escape the heat, we made a trip to Starfield Suwon and stopped at Dalmatian Starfield Suwon (달마시안 스타필드 수원점), which has a reputation as a steak spot there. We wanted to relax with the baby, so I reserved through Naver ahead of time, and sure enough, arriving right on time meant no waiting at all!

Location, opening hours and parking

• Address: 175 Suseong-ro, Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, Unit 1250, 1st floor (1st floor of Starfield Suwon; go in through Gate 3 and it's right on the left / 5-minute walk from Hwaseo Station Exit 1)
• Hours: daily 10:30–22:00 (last order 20:30)
• Parking: Starfield parking lot, first 6 hours free

The sign is so Dalmatian, right? There's also a separate menu board standing by the entrance, so you can browse before going in. This is a restaurant where you can eat with your dog, and they even have a dedicated pet menu.

Atmosphere and seating: does Dalmatian have baby chairs?

Inside Dalmatian Starfield Suwon was much roomier than I expected. The space for guests with dogs and the space for guests without them are naturally separated.

We came with a baby and were shown to a table near the kitchen. When we asked for a baby chair, they brought one right over, so we could eat comfortably.

The inner area seemed set up so guests who came with their dogs can relax.

Every table had dog chairs! At one of the inner tables, a white Bichon was busily eating its meal, haha.

The tableware at the self-service bar was neatly arranged too, which showed they care about hygiene.

They also have separate bowls prepared for pets.

There was a Naver review event going on at Dalmatian Starfield Suwon, too. The prize is a Dalmatian cookie for dogs, and I was curious what that would be like.

What's in Couple Set B? Starting with truffle mushroom soup

We ordered Couple Set B: truffle mushroom soup + shrimp cream panne pasta (pasta served in a bread bowl) + truffle steak risotto + a lemonade and a grapefruit ade.

Bread came out right after we ordered, and the cream cheese with it seemed to be walnut cream cheese.

Truffle oil was drizzled over the cream soup, so it smelled wonderful the moment it arrived.

Dipping the brown bread that came with it, the chewy texture went nicely with the rich soup. The truffle aroma was subtle rather than overpowering, so it's an easy starter. We chose lemonade and grapefruit ade, and they were clean-tasting and went well with the meal.

This is the shrimp cream panne pasta. Eating panne pasta for the first time in a while reminded me of queuing for it in Myeongdong years ago, haha.

It had plenty of big shrimp, and the cream sauce was rich but not heavy.

There was bacon in it too, adding a salty savoriness, so we enjoyed it to the last bite.

After we scooped out the inside of the bread bowl, they toasted the bread once more. Dipped in the cream sauce, it was crisp outside and moist inside, with a really great texture. My husband liked this toasted bread even more than the pasta, haha.

Best dish of the day: truffle steak risotto

Truffle steak risotto

The dish I liked most today was definitely the truffle steak risotto. At first I didn't expect much, thinking it was just a steak placed on top of risotto, but the steak quality was really good.

It was reasonably juicy, and eaten with the risotto the combination was great. The creamy risotto with its gentle truffle aroma goes really well with the steak.

The truffle seemed to bring out the steak's flavor even more, and my husband and I kept saying "this is so good" as we ate.

Overall, every dish was well made and the seasoning wasn't heavy, so we enjoyed it to the end. I also liked that the set lets you try a bit of everything. Next time I'd like to order other steak dishes and a pizza too.

Final verdict on Dalmatian Starfield Suwon

Dalmatian Starfield Suwon serves tasty steak and pasta, and what impressed me most was the space where you can eat comfortably with your dog, plus the pet menu. It should be a satisfying choice for anyone looking for a steak restaurant in Starfield Suwon while shopping or out for the day. Family meal, date, or a meal with your dog, it worked for all of them, and next time I definitely want to try the other steak dishes and pizza~
