Why I wanted protein before an early workout
Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Taemeogneun Saengduyu Baektae 99.3 is an unsweetened raw soy milk powder you mix straight into water. I've been going to early-morning workouts for a few years now, and every morning it's the same dilemma — eating breakfast first kills my appetite, but going on an empty stomach gives me a sour stomach.
Once you start working out you're supposed to get your protein in, but actually managing that is not easy at all, ugh. Anyone who works out will relate.
Then on the August 22, 2026 episode of Hangout with Yoo, I saw the cast mixing something into water and drinking it cold, going "mmm, so nutty~" — I wondered if it was some kind of grain powder drink, so I looked it up.
Raw soy milk you mix into water
Turns out it's < Garuseonsaeng Seoritae >. It's a healthy convenience food built on a 100% pure plant protein base, using natural whole ingredients rather than synthetic additives.

Healthier! Tastier!
Just mix the powder into water and it becomes soy milk!! Pretty amazing, right.
Seoritae or baektae: which Garuseonsaeng Seoritae soy powder to buy
What the Hangout with Yoo cast drank was Garuseonsaeng Seoritae's Seoritae (black bean) 99.3 version, but I prefer white bean milk over black bean milk even in kongguksu (cold soy noodle soup), so I ordered the Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Baektae (white bean) 99.3 instead.

What's in the bag: 99.3% Korean soybeans, 0.7% sea salt
Ding dong, delivery complete.

Inside the box: 500g of unsweetened, no-additive soy milk powder made from 99.3% Korean white soybeans, plus a spoon.

<Ingredients> Soybean (Korean) 99.3%, sea salt 0.7%. Genuinely just Korean white soybeans, packed full of health. Even the salt is sea salt.

How much protein is in 2 spoons? 11g per 30g serving
What caught my eye reading the nutrition info closely was that a 30g serving (2 spoons) contains 11g (20%) of protein. And it's unsweetened with no additives — genuinely great.
I'd been looking into protein shakes to supplement my workouts, but everyone gave contradictory advice — some said eat it, some said don't — it was so confusing. This turned out to be exactly the product I was searching for. Relief.
Does Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Baektae 99.3 dissolve in 180ml of cold water?
I rubbed the powder between my fingers to check how fine it was!! It felt as fine as flour on my fingertips.

As recommended, I mixed 2 spoons of Baektae 99.3 into 180ml of cold water. Even filming with one hand and stirring with the other, it dissolved super well in the cold water. Amazing!

When heading to the gym, I can just bring the powder and add water — so convenient, isn't it?
I also poured in cold water and gave it a good shake.

How does it taste? Not sweet at all, nutty and plain
Keeping it in the fridge feels so reassuring :) I've bought various store soy milks marketed as healthy, but honestly they're all so sweet that I always end up wondering whether I'm drinking soy milk or sugar water, which makes me hesitant to keep drinking them.
Trying Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Baektae 99.3, it's not sweet at all~~ and so nutty and plain!! It's honestly a pure plant-based drink made from nothing but good ingredients. I want to mix it up strong, top it with sliced cucumber, and make kongguksu with it too!
