I'm always wondering where to go next!! hahaha The weather is perfect for weekend outings, so we have to make the most of it~~ We went to Geoje, which is great for kids and satisfying for adults~~ I go to Geoje quite often, but finding a good restaurant always takes some thought!! But near Sono Calm I found a truly, seriously, really good one?? Wow!! And the dish that satisfied both kids and adults was galbi~~~ Let me brag about how incredibly delicious Kkotsutgalbi (꽃숯갈비) in Geoje was!!!

Where is Kkotsutgalbi Geoje Sono Calm Jisepo Main Branch, and where do you park?
Kkotsutgalbi Geoje Sono Calm Jisepo Main Branch is a galbi restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building at 15 Sodong 6-gil, Ilun-myeon, Geoje-si, a one-minute walk from Sono Calm. The parking lot is on the 3rd floor of the same building, and the restaurant is on the 2nd~
- Reasonable prices!
- Lots of side dishes and a good place to go with kids
- 1 minute on foot from Sono Calm, easy to reach!
- A restaurant with a great view where you can see all of Sono Calm
It's literally right in front of Sono Calm, so it's great for having a drink and heading back to your room~ and for a walk after eating!!! Kkotsutgalbi is already famous as a Geoje restaurant and I'm only finding out now!!! We came for lunch and the parking lot is big, which was really nice!!!
There's also play equipment at the entrance that kids will love~~ Oooh!!

Is the Kkotsutgalbi lunch special available on weekends?
Kkotsutgalbi's lunch special is famous, but it's hard to use on weekends. If you want the lunch special, go on a weekday~~~

Seating and window seats: reserve for a Sono Calm and sea view
The Geoje branch of Kkotsutgalbi is a big restaurant with a really spacious hall, and inside there is floor seating that works well for small children. The hall tables are really wide too!!! Wow!!!
I made a reservation, so at lunchtime I got to sit at a window seat, and I was so excited!! Amazing!!

If you're going, reserve and try a window seat~~~ Sono Calm and the Geoje sea view~~ I was already in a great mood as I ordered!!!

What did we order at Kkotsutgalbi?
Kkotsutgalbi is a galbi specialist, so you just choose beef or pork haha. We're pork people rather than beef!! So we ordered 3 servings of marinated pork galbi, and since we were so hungry, some meal dishes too!!! The Geoje yuja bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles with yuja citrus) is said to be famous, so~
- 3 servings of pork galbi
- 1 Geoje yuja bibim naengmyeon
- 1 beef brisket soybean stew (with rice)
- 1 extra bowl of rice
That's what we ordered~~~ Order plenty first and start!!

Kkotsutgalbi side dishes, even marinated raw crab
The basic banchan at Kkotsutgalbi are marinated raw crab (yangnyeom gejang), salad, pickled onions, muk sabal (acorn jelly in cold broth) and scallion salad, plus pickled chili and garlic, and they just keep coming. Wow~~ Get ready to be amazed!!! The insane side dishes begin~~~ wow...
I love salad so much and this salad is the best!!!! A salad as a basic side~~ vegetable lovers will be so touched~~~

The scallions in the scallion salad are really fresh, right??? Proof of freshness!!!

And have you ever seen a galbi restaurant that serves marinated raw crab?? Seriously the best, the best~~~

Muk sabal with lots of pickled onions!!! On top of that, pickled chili, garlic and so many other sides come out!! Before the main even arrived, the table was already full like this~~~

Marinated pork galbi with mushrooms, rice cake and honey
Kkotsutgalbi's marinated pork galbi comes with mushrooms, garoktteok (long rice cake sticks) and honey. Finally the main dish~~ the galbi arrives~~~ And even mushrooms! A thoughtful Geoje restaurant, Kkotsutgalbi!!!

Here's the touching part!!! Rice cake and honey come out~~ Garoktteok as a side is such a clever touch haha. The galbi marinade is tasty, but with chewy rice cake and sweet honey too, the kids love it so so much~~~ Kkotsutgalbi is perfect for a family meal out!!

They lay it out for you like this at first, nice and easy to eat!!! This is about 1.5 servings!! It's a lot, right~~ And there's still more left after grilling this much~~ The meat is plentiful and good quality, so I really trusted it!! And grilled on a wire grill, it's never bad~~~

Wire-grill marinated galbi: how to grill it without burning
The key to Kkotsutgalbi's marinated galbi is setting the heat to medium and flipping often. The meat is good quality and thick, but because it's marinated the outside can burn while the inside stays raw~~ So flip it often to cook the inside and control the heat so the outside doesn't burn, a must!! And grill it nicely while the vent sucks up the smoke!!!

Once one batch is nicely grilled, put it to the side~~ and put the rest of the meat on the hotter spot at medium heat!!!

When even the galbi in the middle is nicely cooked!!! Now you just eat~~~

Perfectly cooked, right??? Grill the rice cake and mushrooms over low heat so they pick up a little of the galbi marinade!!!

They turn out really delicious like this~~ Juicy and the flavor is no joke~~

Once everything is grilled like this~~~ keep eating happily!!!

Geoje yuja bibim naengmyeon: how to eat it with galbi
Kkotsutgalbi's Geoje yuja bibim naengmyeon comes with cold broth, so you can eat it like mul-bibim (noodles in broth) too. Wrap it in lettuce~~ or eat it on its own~~~ The noodles showed up just when there was a bit of meat left!!!

Galbi and bibim naengmyeon is the best combo, right~~~ Such a happy combination ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I love bibim naengmyeon!!!
I do 1.5 rounds of mustard / 2 rounds of vinegar haha, adjust to your taste~~~ Mix it all up and pour in the broth~~ Ahh... so clean in the mouth, so delicious~~ Seriously, if you're coming to Sono Calm you have to have one meal at Kkotsutgalbi right across the way!!! It's so so delicious!!

How was the ₩9,000 beef brisket soybean stew?
Kkotsutgalbi's beef brisket soybean stew (chadol deultppuk doenjang jjigae) is ₩9,000 with rice, and it is totally packed with brisket. No comparison with regular doenjang jjigae!!! Amazing, right??? It's almost a meat soup!!
Spicy, rich and really delicious stew packed with brisket~~ It's so good, so please try the dishes I recommended ♥ The Geoje restaurant near Sono Calm that's good with kids is Kkotsutgalbi in Geoje!! Remember it~~~
