Lickable bronchial supplement for older dogs: Boryeong Daenggaksan
In short
Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong is a lickable, churu-style bronchial supplement for dogs from the Korean pharmaceutical company Boryeong, which modeled it on its Yongkaksan throat remedy. Kongi, a senior dog who coughs now and then, ate Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong straight from the squeezed stick without hesitation, even though it was his first supplement, and the mild grain scent and individual packs made feeding easy. Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong is a convenient choice for everyday bronchial care in senior dogs that are hard to give pills to.

Our Kongi is a senior dog now, so I pay a lot more attention to her health than I used to, and lately I've seen her cough every now and then :( So I wanted to look after her bronchial health ahead of time and gave her the dog bronchial supplement Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong. Best of all, it's as easy to feed as a churu (a squeezable lickable dog treat), and Kongi ate it so well that I was really happy with it! Here's everything from the product's features to my real feeding experience!
What kind of dog bronchial supplement is Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong?

Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong is a new dog bronchial supplement from the pharmaceutical company Boryeong! Boryeong makes me think of Yongkaksan first (a well-known Korean powdered throat remedy), and I'm told this product came out of research that benchmarked exactly that.

What also caught my eye is that a palatability test was run on about 200 dogs.
Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong contents and dosing by weight
The product comes as 8g × 30 sticks! One box holds 30 sticks, individually packed, which made them easy to store and easy to grab when heading out.
- 5kg to under 10kg: 2 sticks a day

How easy is it to feed in churu form?

The biggest feature of Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong is that it's a churu type! Lots of dog supplements come as pills or powder, but with this one I just tore open the stick and fed it right away. No need to mix it into food, so feeding is really easy, I'd say. Since each one is individually packed, it stays hygienic and you can take out one at a time whenever you need it.
What are the texture and scent of Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong like?

The texture was overall like a runny churu, and the scent was a mild grain scent! When I opened it up and looked, it wasn't a completely smooth liquid, more like it had small bits here and there. Still, it wasn't too thick, so it was easy to squeeze out of the stick.
Rather than the strong smell typical of dog supplements, it had a nutty grain scent. Personally, I liked that it wasn't overpowering.
Did senior dog Kongi eat Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong well?

I squeezed Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong straight out like a churu for senior dog Kongi, and she ate it much better than I expected! Hahaha. However good a dog supplement is, it's hard to keep giving it if the dog won't eat it, so I care a lot about palatability, and this one really satisfied me. It was her first time with this supplement, so I wondered if she'd be wary, but there was no need to worry. Without mixing it into her food, she gobbled it up like a churu, haha.

They say the palatability test was done on about 200 dogs, and it seems it suited Kongi's taste too! I liked that I could feed it easily without struggling to get her to eat. These days, the moment I take out a stick, she comes running, somehow knowing, and sits waiting right in front of me!! Hahaha. She must really think it's tasty.
Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong verdict: which dogs is it right for?
What I personally liked most about the dog bronchial supplement Boryeong Daenggaksan Jeong were the easy feeding and the good palatability! A runny churu form, plus a mild grain scent! Kongi ate it really well with no hesitation. And since each stick is individually packed, it's convenient to store too.

If your dog is getting older like Kongi and you've become interested in bronchial care, or if pill-type supplements are hard to feed, it's worth a look. Of course, a supplement doesn't cure a cough, but as an everyday nutrition-care product it was an easy one to give!
