Pangyo fusion omakase with highballs: summer course at Kkweda
In short
Kkweda Pangyo Avenue France Branch (꿰다) is a fusion omakase restaurant in Avenue France, Pangyo, Seongnam, that changes its course menu every season. On a third visit, the writer had the Kkweda summer dinner course (75,000 won per person). It ran from watermelon gazpacho through charcoal-grilled Iberico pork, sea bass karaage, eel donburi and neungi mushroom duck soup to yogurt sorbet. Because dinner requires an alcohol order, the meal came with a Yantai Gold highball and a Mungyeong Baram Baekja highball. Kkweda is a good reference for anniversaries, treating friends or a company dinner.

I'm back to review Kkweda, my go-to Japanese-fusion omakase spot in Pangyo, for the third time!

Kkweda serves fusion omakase inspired by food cultures from around the world, tailored to Korean palates~ The menu changes every season, and this is already my third visit — and this season was just as delicious ☺️ Let's get into the review!

I parked in the building's underground lot~ On weekends the underground lot might be full, so ⬇️ here are backup parking spots to keep in mind!

Kkweda sits right on the main street of Pangyo Avenue France, so it's also easy to reach from Pangyo Station~ (There's an Olive Young and a Starbucks right next door, so use those as landmarks!)

This is already my third visit to Kkweda, and every single time I'm impressed with how delicious it is!

You can check this season's menu right in front of the store~ Now let's head inside~
Kkweda's atmosphere and group seating
Kkweda's dining room is really clean ✨ and neatly styled~ There's also group seating, so I saw family gatherings and friend groups dining there~ The tableware was so pretty too 😍💗
Kkweda dinner course price and drinks menu
Kkweda's dinner course is ₩75,000 per person, and for the dinner course, ordering alcohol is required~ There's a non-alcoholic option too, just so you know! I ordered a Yantai Gold Highball (₩10,000) and a Mungyeong Baram Baekja Highball (₩12,000).

There's a huge variety of drinks available, so keep that in mind~
- Dinner (₩75,000 per person)
- Yantai Gold Highball (₩10,000)
- Mungyeong Baram Baekja Highball (₩12,000)
Watermelon gazpacho
The 'watermelon gazpacho' is a cold soup made from watermelon and bell pepper, topped with sous-vide squid and aged Korean melon — a summer dish.
The watermelon gazpacho that came out as the appetizer had such a refreshing, zesty flavor that it really woke up my appetite~ A watermelon soup felt so novel, and it turned out to be watermelon juice with squid, Korean melon, and bell pepper mixed in~ The squid's chewy texture in particular was great 👍
Grilled vegetable salad

The 'grilled vegetable salad' is a refreshing starter of zucchini and carrot cured in herbs and salt then grilled, served with apple, homemade yogurt dressing, and prosciutto.

The yogurt dressing paired really well with the vegetables and the salty prosciutto. With yogurt dressing, nuts, and prosciutto all added to the vegetables, there was no way this salad could taste bad! It was so good I demolished it in no time haha
Chodang corn custard
The 'chodang corn custard' layers scallop and shallot pickle under smooth chodang sweet corn custard, giving it a sweet, nutty flavor.

This one was genuinely amazing! The custard cream and chodang corn combo alone would've been enough, but adding scallop on top gave it extra texture too.
Charcoal-grilled Iberico pork

The 'charcoal-grilled Iberico pork' is Iberico grilled over charcoal, served with herb chimichurri sauce and cheese potato.

Today's main event haha, the meat dish I'd been waiting for!! Grilled to juicy perfection 💗

I wondered what this was — turns out it's potato topped with cheese!! They scored the surface of the potato along the grain to keep the texture interesting too🫢👍
Sea bass karaage
The 'sea bass karaage' is summer sea bass fried until crispy, served with yuzu ponzu and grated radish for a refreshing bite.

I don't usually go out of my way for white fish, but fried up crispy and paired with yuzu ponzu sauce plus grated radish, it was impossible not to love 😋
Eel donburi

The 'eel donburi' is eel grilled with house-made tare sauce, served over mushroom and burdock rice, best eaten with pickled Korean melon for an extra boost of flavor.

The seasoning on the eel wasn't too strong — it was just right,

and the combination with the pickled Korean melon was so good~ The pickled melon was so tasty I wanted to try making it at home~
Neungi mushroom duck soup
The 'neungi mushroom duck soup' is a nourishing broth made by simmering neungi mushrooms and duck bones, served with duck breast and udon noodles.
This one was really delicious too — the second-best dish of the whole course after the charcoal-grilled Iberico pork! The broth especially was deep and rich, like a proper tonic soup 👍 The duck breast was tender, and eating it together with the bean sprouts and noodles was 😋👍👍
Yogurt sorbet
The 'yogurt sorbet' is a dessert of yogurt sorbet with buttery cookie crumble and berry compote.
They finished things off with a refreshing yogurt sorbet! This season was, once again, extremely satisfying.
What is Kkweda good for?
- ✔️ Anniversary dinners
- ✔️ Treating friends or acquaintances
- ✔️ Company dinner venue
Hope this is helpful for planning your visit!
