Chat Baker (챗 베이커) is a large bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong. The writer drops in often, but it's especially good for taking parents, so here's another recommendation 🙆‍♀️ Even when it's busy it never gets rowdy and it's always kept tidy, so it was easy to spend a relaxed time with Mom and Dad.

They even had a jazz performance not long ago! With jazz shows and all kinds of other events now and then, Chat Baker really feels like the community living room (?) of Gongdo, Anseong!

This time, they had made water flow down the outside of the window, which made it a perfect spot for rain-gazing-style zoning out! It was a slightly cloudy day when we went, and that actually blended in so well. The mood was so good!

Chat Baker isn't just big with a nice atmosphere! There are fluffy, soft corn loaves and milk loaves~!

Croissants stuffed with cream, plus cookies and other breads!

Cakes with unusual designs galore~ and lots of cake slices that are easy to enjoy casually~

There's a real variety: plain breads that work as a meal, and sausage bread and more for a filling snack!

The breads at Chat Baker are quite big! And the prices are more reasonable than you'd expect! Even if several people go and pick out a bunch of things, it's not a heavy bill, which makes it even better 😊

They have butter tteok (butter rice cake), which was trendy for a while, all ready too. With trendy desserts always on hand, it's the very picture of a trendy café..🫶

And they neatly stock health supplements like these too!

We came after lunch, so we said we'd keep the order simple! and then my family just can't let go of bread, again..🤦‍♀️ So what did we end up ordering?

What are the atmosphere and cleanliness like at Chat Baker?

Chat Baker is always tidy, a quiet large café with soft music playing. While waiting a moment after ordering, I looked around the café.

It's a place where you can really feel the ease that gentle music and a clean space bring! Chat Baker often has jazz performances, so if you're interested, do check them out!

The self-service corner is tidy too! When you go, the staff ladies (?) are wiping and sweeping all the time... so there's a reason the place stays so clean! Even with so many visitors (?), it isn't very noisy, and Chat Baker is always neat.

There's an outdoor area outside the window~ and the big window, styled with a different concept each season, is Chat Baker's signature🫶

The ceilings are high, so it feels really open!

At Chat Baker, Mom and I chose the nutty coffee, and Dad got the handmade vanilla bean latte, plus a cheese-loaded ciabatta. Mom and I don't really like acidic coffee, so we picked the nutty beans, and it suited our taste perfectly!

Dad loves sweet things, so whenever he comes to Chat Baker it's always the handmade vanilla bean latte!

We'd already eaten a meal, but the cheese-loaded ciabatta was impossible to resist

Chat Baker bakes its own bread, so if you're lucky you can get it fresh out of the oven! But even when it isn't fresh, you still get cleanly delicious bread!

What's on the second floor of Chat Baker?

The second floor of Chat Baker has LP records, a big table right in the middle, and porcelain decor neatly arranged (?). Looking around Chat Baker is quite fun too! The interior is really clean and you can tell they've cared about every little prop!
