Hwaseong pork cutlets, daily limited loin at Kkot Gatsu
In short
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is a handmade pork cutlet restaurant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. I arrived at opening time for Kkot Gatsu and the daily limited special loin cutlet without waiting. Verdict: Go early and make sure to try the special loin cutlet.

Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch (꽃가츠 동탄본점) is a well-known handmade pork cutlet spot in Mok-dong, Dongtan, with a reputation for waits—and one I visit now and then too. Along with pork cutlets, there are plenty of sides to try, including naengmomil (cold buckwheat noodles), hwa udon, café udon, and fried shrimp. Here’s my weekday dinner review of Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch, where properly crisp-outside, moist-inside pork cutlets are made with top-grade Korean pork ✔️
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch location and parking

Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is right across from Wangbaesan Sports Park in Mok-dong, Dongtan, near the dining area. It had been a few months since my last visit, so I came back at last! It usually has a lunch-time wait, so I arrived right at the 11 a.m. weekend opening and was seated immediately without waiting. If you hate waiting, I think arriving at opening is the way to go!
You can park in the alley in front of the restaurant, but it is often full on weekends. Mok-dong Public Parking Lot is a better option, just a two- to three-minute walk away. There are EV chargers too, so we left our car charging while we ate haha.
A clean, comfortable dining room

Every time I visit Kkot Gatsu, the first thing I notice is how clean the restaurant always is—and the tableware is super clean too. Hygiene is something I quietly pay attention to whenever I eat out, so this is one of the places I like even more because it feels clean and comfortable overall!

There are tables for two to four people, and quite a few people come here to eat alone. We came in right at opening, but a few tables were already taken, as expected! From around noon, there is a wait, so keep that in mind. The café-like interior is pretty too, making Kkot Gatsu a nice place for a date meal ✨
You can also spot various certifications on one side, including an excellence award in the pork cutlet category from the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation. There is a restroom inside the restaurant, so you do not have to go in and out, and there are even two types of high chair. I think that is why lots of families with children visit too!

The Kkot Gatsu and special loin katsu we ordered
My husband and I ordered one menu item each, then picked up side dishes from the self-service bar first. They come with the meal anyway, but we grabbed extra because we wanted more.

Top: Kkot Gatsu (tenderloin, 200 g), ₩15,000 / Bottom: special loin katsu (200 g), ₩16,000. About 20 minutes after ordering, both pork cutlet dishes came out almost at the same time. They arrived as such neat, appetizing-looking full set meals, right?

Tender Kkot Gatsu tenderloin
The Kkot Gatsu I ordered is Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch’s most basic menu item. Since it is a tenderloin pork cutlet, it is soft, so this is usually what I get. The slightly pink center and crisp-looking crust were so juicy, and it smelled wonderfully nutty from the start ><

Even without any sauce, the pork cutlet alone was so delicious: crispy on the outside, then moist and tender inside ㅠㅠ The cutlet itself is quite thick, so the portion is substantial too.

The daily limited special loin katsu we aimed for in the morning
This is the special loin katsu my husband ordered, which is only sold in limited quantities each day. If you visit early in the morning like this, you can try the limited special loin katsu too haha. Kkot Gatsu is delicious, but this one is even better—that’s what I’d say.

It is a pork cutlet made with a whole piece of loin, and the meat was truly amazing! It had nuttiness, tenderness, and a pleasant chew—all of it, literally, in its texture and flavor. There was just the right amount of fat around the edge, and it was not only rich but the loin itself was tender too. For both my husband and me, Kkot Gatsu’s undisputed number-one pork cutlet is the special loin katsu ⭐️

The rice and doenjang-guk (soybean paste soup) eaten alongside the pork cutlet were reliably above average as well. Even though I can eat quite a lot, I always leave this place absolutely stuffed... haha.

On the way out, we made sure to pick up the candies by the register and enjoyed dessert too ><
If you are looking for a good restaurant in Mok-dong, Dongtan—or a popular Dongtan spot that gets a wait—Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is worth seeking out. If you want a truly good pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan, I recommend it for a date or a family meal too, since the atmosphere is lovely.
