Suwon restaurant family pasta lunch: Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot

Haenggung-dong in Suwon is close to Dongtan, so I visit fairly often; there is lots to eat and enjoy there. I heard there was a great brunch spot during my first visit to Haenggung-dong in a while, so off I went to Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot. It is an Italian restaurant where you can enjoy a wide range of delicious dishes, including pasta, risotto, and steak, along with coffees, wines, and drinks. The pretty, relaxed space also makes it a recommended Suwon Haenggung-dong date spot—here is my weekend lunch review! ✔️

Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot location and parking

Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot is in Buksu-dong, Paldal-gu, on the Haenggung-dong side of Suwon, right near Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. Reservations can be made in advance, so we booked the day before for opening time and visited.

We parked at Hwahongmun Public Parking Lot, the closest one, about a five-minute walk away. The first 60 minutes are free there, then it is ₩300 for each additional 10 minutes, so the parking fee was not much of a burden.

An Italian restaurant with beautiful interiors

At Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot, I loved the spacious, relaxed, and pleasant interior from the moment we walked in. From all kinds of brunch dishes to pasta and steak, everything is carefully prepared in-house every day! The delicious aroma drifting from the kitchen hit us right away~

The spaces, decorated beautifully with all sorts of vintage-style interior pieces, were proper photo zones! The atmosphere is good to begin with, so it seemed absolutely perfect for a date or a blind date, haha.

High chairs were available, and we could order by mobile QR code, as is so common these days.

Menu range, from brunch to steak

The varied Italian dishes—including steak platters, jambon sandwiches, ricotta salad, rosé pasta, crispy thin pizza, carbonara, bulgogi risotto, and tomato pasta—range from ₩10,000 to ₩37,000. Coffee, alcohol, and drink options, including lemon draft beer, milk tea, white coffee, ade, white wine by the glass, Sprangcid Shiraz bottled wine, Kozel Dark Cinnamon, and Coke Zero, range from ₩2,500 to ₩96,000.

Menus chosen for every family member's taste

They set out pretty small plates and brought homemade pickles first.

Lemonade, ₩6,000. The refreshing lemonade was the first thing to arrive. It used sparkling water rather than Sprite, so it was not overly sweet; its tanginess was great for waking up the appetite!

Fresh ricotta salad, ₩11,000. The next dish was a salad with house-made ricotta cheese, vegetables, and fruit. The ricotta was chewy and nutty, so we happily started with the salad too^^

From the top, in order: bisque rosé pasta ₩19,000, classic carbonara ₩15,000, and chicken thigh Alfredo cream pasta ₩18,000. My husband, my daughter, and I each ordered a pasta according to our tastes. We are such a pasta-loving family that we tried one of each >< Even the plates were so pretty that I wanted them, haha.

The carbonara here is close to a thick, traditional carbonara, with a nutty flavor and a cheesy taste—completely my style! The Alfredo cream pasta in particular had thick noodles that were nicely cooked and chewy, while its cream was different from the carbonara: a little thinner and closer to a milky flavor, so children would probably like it too.

And then there was the bisque rosé pasta, subtly spicy with a savory depth and a rich shrimp aroma—one shrimp lovers would find satisfying. The shrimp on the dishes had a smoky charred flavor, and the chicken thigh was moist, so I could tell as soon as I tasted them that they use really good ingredients.

Finish with a Coke Zero to cleanse the palate, and our delicious brunch meal was over >< Oh, and keep in mind that a Naver receipt review gives up to 10% off a main dish.
