Suwon Japanese restaurant mazesoba with rice: Gohobi Katsu
In short
Gohobi Katsu is a Japanese restaurant near Suwon Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi. I visited at an in-between afternoon hour with no break time and had the mazesoba set and hire katsu set, mixing rice into the remaining richly seasoned noodles. Gohobi Katsu is a satisfying choice for crisp, tender Japanese comfort food.

When I’m craving Japanese pork cutlets and richly seasoned noodles in Suwon, I head to Gohobi Katsu (고호비카츠), where you can enjoy crisp pork fillet katsu and addictively spicy mazesoba (dry mixed noodles) in a cozy setting!
Gohobi Katsu near Suwon Station

It’s 500 m from Exit 8 of Suwon Station. Gohobi Katsu is open daily from 11:00 to 20:30, with last orders at 20:00.

It’s conveniently close to Suwon Station, and there’s underground parking in the building~ I took public transportation, and it was easy to find since it’s near the station! Seriously, just a five-minute walk!
Leave a receipt review and receive a menchi katsu or a drink!

One big advantage is that there’s no break time. So many places take a break between 3 and 5 these days, so you end up wondering where to go at that awkward hour 😭 That’s exactly when I visited!
A cozy interior with open-kitchen counter seats

It has such a different feel from the exterior, and isn’t it pretty? The open kitchen and counter seating make it fun to watch, too~

Seats are filled from the inside first, and there are thoughtfully placed bag baskets behind the chairs!

Each table has sauces ready for you. You can also choose between sesame dressing and apple-and-carrot dressing. For the record, I tried both, and the sesame one was more my style! The apple-and-carrot dressing was slightly sweet?
Set meals and sauces available on request

Order a set meal and it comes with rice, soup, and side dishes. Spicy pork-cutlet sauce and curry are available on request.
Mazesota set with thick noodles and rich sauce

It comes generously topped with savory sauce, minced meat, chives, seaweed flakes, and a fresh golden egg yolk. Pop the yolk and mix everything evenly—the noodles are quite thick, so they have a nice chew!

I added rice to the leftover sauce and mixed it all together. The sauce is so rich that it goes perfectly with rice 😆 There was plenty of sauce, so it never felt lacking~
Tender and crisp hire katsu set

The hire katsu (pork fillet cutlet) is made with tenderloin, and it’s truly so tender! There were no tough bits or unwanted smell at all, so it suited my taste perfectly~

You can have it with wasabi or dip it in pork-cutlet sauce, but it was also clean and delicious with the salt that came with it! The portion was quietly generous, and I got full as I ate. It stayed crisp even after some time~
It’s a space where the care put into even the smallest decorative detail stands out~ If you’re wondering about a reliably good Japanese meal in Suwon, Gohobi Katsu is just right!
