Lately, I was thinking about a special dinner to cheer up Malangko, who has been busy and worn out, so we headed to Sinchon. We wanted a mood lift from delicious food and a date in an exotic setting, and the place we chose was Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch! It was such a satisfying visit, with authentic Indian and Nepali dishes made by local chefs with more than 10 years of experience 👀

The moment we stepped inside, the clean yet distinctly exotic interior, full of Indian and Nepali character, caught my eye.

The space was roomy and the tables were generously spaced, so it looked very suitable for a Sinchon date, a friends' gathering, or even a large company dinner!

What comes in the set for two?

The most popular choice here is definitely the set menu for two (₩50,000).

Set meal with curry and naan

It is a generously packed set that lets you enjoy curry, naan, tandoori dishes, salad, and drinks all at once, so we ordered it without hesitation. I heard it is especially popular with nearby students and office workers because lunch is available at an even better price!

First to arrive were warm chicken mushroom soup and a fresh green salad.

The smooth soup, rich with mushroom flavor, warmed us up before the meal, while the crisp, refreshing salad really awakened our appetites! Haha.

Next came samosas, Indian-style dumplings.

Samosas with sweet chili sauce

The light, spicy filling tucked inside the crisp fried pastry was lovely dipped into sweet chili sauce—such a treat.

The tandoori chicken and king prawns that arrived as the mains were cooked in an authentic clay oven. They were mild on the outside and juicy within, and I could not help but be impressed.

The plump king prawns in particular had an impressively springy texture and deep flavor!

Putting the tandoori chicken and king prawns over a little curry sauce doubled the flavor—an absolute dream pairing.

Prawn makhani curry and garlic naan together

For the set's highlight curry, we chose prawn makhani curry.

Prawn makhani curry

It brought together fresh prawns, soft cream, and tomato sauce. It was not overpowering, yet it had the deep, rich flavors of the region, so I immediately understood why people recommend this place for curry. When I scooped into it, it was generously filled with big, plump prawns; that bouncy bite was seriously a work of art every time!

The garlic naan, baked to order in an authentic clay oven (tandoor), was so hot that steam rose as we tore it by hand.

Dipping the chewy naan, gently scented with garlic, deeply into the smooth prawn makhani curry made for a perfect pairing: the nutty richness of the cream curry and the fragrance of garlic naan came together beautifully!

After we finished the naan, another unmissable treat was piling curry over the warm white rice served alongside and mixing it all together. It had a different kind of mildness from the naan, and we scraped up every last spoonful!

Lassi and mango lassi with the meal

The lassi and mango lassi we had with the meal were perfect too. The cool, sweet-tangy mango lassi cleared away any heaviness in the mouth and made a wonderful finish to the course!
