My hair had started looking so messy again lately, so I went to a Seodaemun Station hair salon for a bob cut and bob straightening! It was practically right in front of Seodaemun Station, so it was easy to find, and it’s close to Gwanghwamun and Chungjeongno too—such great access 👍

So I think it would be a really great place for anyone looking for a hair salon around Gwanghwamun, Seodaemun Station, or Chungjeongno too!

A comfortable salon atmosphere, even for a long appointment

The inside of this Seodaemun Station hair salon had an overall clean, relaxing feel. It didn’t feel cramped, everything was neatly arranged, and there was a good amount of space between seats, so I could get my treatment comfortably. The mirrors and styling areas were well kept too, and it felt easygoing even though I was sitting there for quite a while 🤗 There was also a waiting area, so it would be comfortable if you arrive a little early or come with someone!

Sharing my wavy-bob concerns before a tassel cut and straightening

This time, I got a tassel cut and bob straightening together again. My hair is wavy, so when I cut it into a bob, it can sometimes look even more bulky, you know? The ends especially flip out however they want, and my waves get stronger on humid days, so it isn’t easy to style it neatly 😭 So during the consultation, I told them that my waves were my main concern and asked for something as easy to manage as possible.

They carefully checked the condition of my hair first, then naturally talked me through the style I wanted.

A tassel cut suited to my face shape and balance

We started with the bob and tassel cut. Rather than cutting it too short, I asked for a length that would fall neatly with my face shape and overall look. A bob’s whole vibe can change dramatically depending on the cut line, right? I loved that they cut it while keeping the overall balance in mind 💇‍♀️

Now it was time for the chemical treatment for my bob straightening at this Seodaemun hair salon. Since my hair is wavy, it needed a process to correct all the bends first rather than simply flattening it. During the treatment, they carefully corrected even the waves around my roots.

They also brought me a drink and snacks during the appointment, so I could relax and snack in between!

Once the chemical treatment was done, it was time for the bob straightening. They didn’t grab huge sections and straighten them all at once—they took tiny sections of hair and carefully straightened every single flyaway!!? If the roots are pressed too flat, they can look limp and strange, right? They straightened my hair while holding it in a way that kept natural volume at the roots. I loved that the waves were smoothed out neatly but the root volume was preserved, so it didn’t sit too flat against my head.

How should a wavy bob be dried for a natural fall?

After finishing with the neutralizer, they dried my hair. But they didn’t just roughly blow-dry it—they explained that the shape of wavy hair can change depending on how you dry it, then showed me how to dry it from the roots and which direction to dry it so it falls naturally. Seeing it step by step made me realize why I was always somehow unhappy with my hair even after drying it myself, haha.

Ta-da ✨ Look, my hair got so much neater, right?! The waves that had been bending in every direction were smoothed out, and the ends fell neatly too—I love it so much haha. Especially because they kept the roots from lying completely flat and gave them volume, the overall shape looks much more natural 🤗
