Osan Chinese restaurant: squid jjajang & dongpo pork for two, Dami Sik
In short
Dami Sik (다미식) is a Korean fusion restaurant on Sumogwon-ro in Osan, Gyeonggi, run by an owner-chef with 20 years of experience and known for stone jjajang (black bean noodles) served sizzling on a stone plate and dongpo pork braised for 3 hours. The writer visited as a pair and ordered the stone jjajang and dongpo pork set, praising the generous squid in the jjajang, pork tender enough to cut with chopsticks, scallion kimchi as a side dish and yogurt for dessert. For two people unsure what to order, Dami Sik's stone jjajang and dongpo pork set is filling enough that nothing else is needed.

What kind of place is Dami Sik in Osan?
Dami Sik (다미식) is a Korean fusion restaurant run by an owner-chef with 20 years of experience, at 55 Sumogwon-ro 49beon-gil, 1st floor, Osan, Gyeonggi. I went because it's known as an Osan go-to for stone jjajang (black bean noodles served on a hot stone plate), but it turns out it's also known for its pollack soup (dongtae-tang). It was reportedly chosen as one of Osan's top 3 restaurants of 2024.

How is the parking at Dami Sik?
- Free parking available
- Space for 7–8 cars in the lot beside the restaurant
- Parking enforcement is relaxed at lunch, 11:30–13:30
- If the lot is full, park in front of the restaurant
Opening hours
Dami Sik is open Mon–Sat 10:30–22:00, with last order at 21:00, and closed every Sunday.
What's the atmosphere like inside Dami Sik?

The inside is comfortable for a relaxed meal. There were lots of families and a few groups of friends, but it wasn't too loud, just pleasantly lively, perfect for chatting. The food also came out faster than I expected.
What should two people order at Dami Sik?

You order on the tablet at the table. After some agonizing over the menu, I went with the stone jjajang and dongpo pork (braised pork belly) set, and it's a pretty great combo, so I recommend it. It's just right for two people, and you'll be full without ordering anything else!

The table was stocked with paper cups, wet wipes and sauces, which was handy.

Scallion kimchi comes as a side dish
The basic sides are pickled radish and scallion kimchi. Pickled radish is a must at any jjajang place, but scallion kimchi!!! They actually serve scallion kimchi.

How does the stone jjajang taste?
Dami Sik's stone jjajang is a main dish for 2–2.5 people (one bowl of rice included), and it's presented as closer to a proper dish than plain jjajangmyeon. A revolution in jjajangmyeon! It came out looking gorgeous, proving its Osan reputation. I never knew stone jjajang could look like this.
As the name says, it arrives sizzling on a stone plate, and the bubbling sound the moment it appears grabs your attention right away. Jjajangmyeon usually cools quickly, which is a bit of a letdown, but this stays warm to the very end, which is a total game changer! Because it's so hot, the sauce tastes richer and soaks well into the noodles.

Steam wafting up, the stone jjajang passes the Osan-famous-restaurant looks test. The sauce itself isn't just sweet; it's deep and savory with real umami.

Squid goes in generously
On the first bite I found more ingredients in there than I expected, which made eating it fun. The squid is generous, with a great chew, and it goes really well with the stone jjajang.

And the rice that comes with it! They bring one bowl per person. The set is so well put together..

How tender is the dongpo pork at Dami Sik?
The dongpo pork is 500g. They say 500–600g of pork belly is browned, then braised for a total of 3 hours, making it extremely tender.

The meat isn't tough at all, just really tender. It was easy to eat since chopsticks cut right through it, and it melts moistly in your mouth. Truly the very definition of tender dongpo pork.

The soft texture of the pork pairs better with the stone jjajang than I expected, so I fully understand why they made it a set. If you're two people torn between several dishes, I recommend the stone jjajang and dongpo pork set. Said it was an Osan favorite, and it is, right?

Combos that taste even better
Stone jjajang + scallion kimchi
Food lovers know how well scallion kimchi goes with jjajang.... The kimchi cleanly cuts the heavy richness of the sauce, so you keep eating without feeling greasy. Alternating between them, the combo is honestly crazy good!

Dongpo pork + wasabi + bok choy
Dongpo pork with wasabi + bok choy is the best, so definitely eat it this way.

A finish with dessert too
At the end, Dami Sik even gives you a yogurt for dessert, and though it seems like nothing, it was a point I really liked for rounding off the meal. Eat until you're full and then freshen your mouth before you leave! If you're looking for a happy meal in Osan, I recommend it. Apparently, surprisingly, a lot of people also come for drinking snacks..
