Eunpyeong ramen shop: Hapjeong's famous paitan without the line, Oreno

In short

Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong (오레노라멘 은평점) is a ramen shop on Bulgwangcheon-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul, opened by a ramen brand that became popular in Hapjeong, serving tori paitan and karai paitan ramen at ₩13,000 each. The writer, who once gave up on the line at the Hapjeong branch, waited only 5–7 minutes at 11:40 am on a Sunday; two people ordered both ramens with tsukune chashu and a soft-boiled egg, then enjoyed refills of noodles, broth, rice and kimchi. Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong: my first visit after giving up on the Hapjeong line

Oreno Ramen is also known as a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand ramen spot, so I bet many of you already know it, haha. It got hugely popular in Hapjeong and has now landed in Eunpyeong. I remember giving up on the Hapjeong branch because of the line, so this was my first visit, at the Eunpyeong branch!

How long is the wait at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?

At 11:40 am on a Sunday, the wait was about 5–7 minutes. Oreno is famous as an Eunpyeong food spot, so I was worried it would be long, but it was shorter than I expected, haha. For a life-changing bowl of ramen, that's totally worth waiting for!

Is there parking at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?

There is a parking spot next to the shop, so it was easy to use. It fits about 2 cars, so it seems good for visiting by car too!

Pickled radish, kimchi, and a packed dining room

Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong has mu pickle (pickled Korean radish) as its Korean-style pickle, which I loved, haha. When the ramen gets a little heavy, a bite of it cleans up your mouth, so it's a great side.

TIP! Order kimchi from the start too and eat it together for a refreshing finish!!

There were quite a lot of seats inside, yet it filled up fast, and customers kept coming in, so you can feel how popular it is as an Eunpyeong food spot. I also saw a couple of groups of Westerners. Same at City Hall last time. Do Westerners just love ramen?

What can you get refilled at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong?

Noodles, broth, rice and kimchi can all be refilled. That was huge news for a big eater like me.

The menu is pretty simple, so I just ordered everything, haha. Two of us went and got the tori paitan and karai paitan, adding chashu and a soft-boiled egg.

Karai paitan ramen ₩13,000: how spicy is it?

The karai paitan was fine even for me, someone who finds Shin Ramyun a little spicy. It was mildly spicy, which made it even better!

Noodles and broth of karai paitan ramen

Tori paitan ramen ₩13,000 with tsukune chashu

The tori paitan broth uses the same base as the karai paitan (the spicy tori paitan), just without the spice, so you get only the clean, rich flavor of the broth with no kick. Eating the chicken together with the kelp is a real treat!!

True to an Eunpyeong food spot, the ramen looks outrageously good!!

Soft-boiled egg on tori paitan ramen

The soft-boiled egg I added was so good I was amazed, haha. I'd love to know the secret to getting it just right like this.

Refilled broth and rice

How much broth and rice you get on refill

This is the amount of broth and rice I got on refill at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong! It's just the right amount for a little dessert (?).

Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong: a big eater's verdict

I get why it's famous as an Eunpyeong food spot. It was so good that I cleaned up everything my friend left too~~ The ramen is a little salty, the kind that makes you crave a beer, and if you take the refill rice or noodles, you get really full.

If you're looking for ramen near Saejeol Station or around Eunpyeong, it's a great pick for a day when you want a comfortable, tasty meal.
