Main photo of Doasis, a bakery café in Yangju

Going to a café with a baby isn't easy, is it? You're stuck at home and want some fresh air, but before going out you end up thinking first about whether it'll be comfortable with the baby. At small neighborhood cafés or franchise cafés, I worry about the looks from people around us and can't really relax, so I started looking for a place that's good to go to with a child.

True to its name, an oasis in the middle of the city, Doasis impressed me with its green plants and big space, and with a wide range of breads and drinks plus a nursing room, it was a relaxed place to spend time. I'll share the atmosphere from my visit on a weekday afternoon before dinner and why it worked well with a baby.

Is Doasis in Yangju an easy café to visit with a baby and stroller?

Doasis in Yangju is a big bakery café with a large interior and parking lot, so it felt roomy for pushing a stroller with a baby. Weekday or weekend, it's a big bakery that feels healing, not cramped or chaotic.

When you go out with a baby, what matters is less whether the coffee is good and more whether you can sit and rest comfortably. You worry about whether the baby fussing will bother people nearby, and you naturally check whether it's easy to get around with a stroller.

First impression of Doasis's wide, relaxed interior

In that sense, Doasis felt relaxed from the first impression. Unlike an ordinary neighborhood café, it's big, the interior is spacious, and even the parking lot is huge!

Even on a weekend when it's really crowded, there's nothing to worry about, because Doasis uses an AI scanner for checkout, and it's done in a flash, swish swish~~

It's less a place to gulp down a coffee and leave, and more a place to eat some bread, wander slowly around the interior and enjoy a short break. My husband, who came along, even said that with a café like this we could come often with the baby, haha

What breads and drinks does Doasis have?

At Doasis you can choose from about 50 kinds of bread baked daily, plus desserts, drinks and brunch. From butter-rich brioche to chewy mochi bread, crispy pastries and plain ciabatta, the variety is huge, so it's a great bread spot to pick from by taste!!

I visited on a weekday afternoon before dinner, so it was relatively quiet. Thanks to that I could look over the bread slowly, and I liked that a staff member kindly explained each bread's character and taste in person. When there are so many kinds it's hard to decide, but hearing the explanations made choosing easy.

The drink menu was varied too. Besides rich coffee for adults, there were sweet drinks that both adults and kids like, such as chestnut latte and sweet potato latte.

You can also have brunch here, so it's more than a café for bread and coffee; you can even handle a simple meal. Next time I want to come in the morning instead of the late afternoon and have brunch~

A palm-filled interior: will the baby get bored?

The biggest feature of Doasis in Yangju is its large indoor space and green plants. It's about 2,000 pyeong (roughly 6,600 m²), and they say there are as many as 300 palm trees brought from Jeju all around the interior!

Walking around, it feels less like a café and more like being in a botanical garden, fresh and pleasant. The green plants and palms catch your eye, so with a baby it's great to move around a little and look at things rather than sit in one spot for long!!

My baby also looked at the trees as we did a lap together, and didn't get bored, cheering up again quickly. The table spacing felt wide too, so moving around with the stroller wasn't much of a burden, which I liked.

Of course the crowding can differ at busy times, but when I visited I could look around leisurely and enjoy the space itself. Among Yangju's big bakery cafés, Doasis is unmatched for its unusual, plant-filled atmosphere, so I'm definitely itching to come back!

Baby facilities at Doasis: nursing room, high chairs and more

Doasis has high chairs, a separate nursing room, baby tableware and a microwave. When going to a café with a baby, facilities for the child are one of the things I check most carefully.

No matter how much you like the coffee and bread, it's hard to stay if there's no proper space when you need to nurse or change a diaper.

I liked that Doasis has high chairs and a nursing room. There's tableware you can use when eating bread with a baby, a microwave, and a separate nursing room that was convenient to use when needed. Especially for situations like nursing or diaper changes that call for a somewhat private space, just knowing these facilities exist made visiting much less stressful.

Doasis photo zone good for pictures with kids

I also remembered that there's a photo zone where you can take pictures with your child. With the wide space and palm trees together, it would be nice for family photos in a slightly different atmosphere than usual.

When looking for a café that's good with a baby, it helps to check facilities like these as well as the menu. Doasis is just right for enjoying bread and coffee while taking a short break with your child!

Visiting with a 5-month-old on a weekday before dinner

Doasis, which I visited with my 5-month-old and a stroller, lets you enjoy a variety of bakery items and drinks while exploring a wide, unusual space, so I think any parent would love it. In particular, the palm-filled interior, the roomy-feeling seating, and facilities like high chairs and the nursing room felt like real advantages when visiting with a baby.

When you're raising a child, even without traveling far, a little time to get some fresh air and relax nearby is really precious, isn't it? If you're looking for a place in Yangju where you can enjoy bread and coffee and visit easily with a baby, try Doasis, the oasis in the city.
