If you love meat, this is one of those restaurants you'd click on just from the photos haha. This time I visited Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch, near the Bojeong-dong café street in Yongin. As the name suggests, it's all about American BBQ — brisket, baby back ribs, pulled pork — and the interior is styled like an old-school American BBQ joint, so the vibe is just as strong as the food. We ordered the new Rustic BBQ Platter for ₩45,000.

Where is Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch, and is there parking?

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is located at 11-14 Jukjeon-ro 43beon-gil, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, 1st floor. It's close to the Bojeong-dong café street, so it's a great spot to hit before checking out nearby cafés after your meal haha.

RUSTIC HOUSE sign on the black exterior

The huge RUSTIC HOUSE sign on the black exterior is visible from far away, so the place wasn't hard to find. Red lettering and a string of bulbs around the sign already gave off serious American Southern BBQ vibes lol. There's space to park in front, but not many spots, so it's better to visit with some time to spare on weekends or during meal hours. Recent visitor reviews say there's room for about 3–5 cars in front.

Inside Rustic Smokehouse: an American BBQ restaurant look

The inside is even more on-point than the exterior haha. It's decorated in dark wood tones, black and wine colors, with a warm yellow lighting throughout.

On the walls are the Rustic Smokehouse logo, framed pictures and antler decorations, plus a huge chandelier on one side, giving off the feel of an old restaurant from an American movie lol. There are regular tables as well as long black leather sofa seating running along the wall, so it works well for groups. The space is also more spacious than I expected, which felt more suited to family dinners or friend gatherings than dates haha.

They actually had kids' chairs ready, so it looked easy for families with children too. It's a completely different vibe from the clean, all-white restaurants that are trendy these days, and personally I found this concept refreshing lol.

Hours, break time and the 5% takeout discount

When I visited, the hours posted in the restaurant were 11:00 to 21:30. Lunch last order was 15:00, break time was 15:00–17:00, and dinner last order was 20:30. It's also closed every Monday, and takeout orders get a 5% discount haha. If you're planning a late lunch, definitely check the break time first.

The Rustic Smokehouse menu goes well beyond BBQ

Rustic Smokehouse BBQ menu board
Menu board listing platters and set menus

Given the name, I assumed it was BBQ-only, but the menu board turned out to have a surprising range of options haha. You can order brisket, pulled pork or baby back ribs individually, or go for a BBQ platter with several meats at once. There are also steak platters, couple sets and family sets sized for different group counts lol. They also had quite a few pastas.

Menu board listing pasta and risotto dishes

There was pesche, Toowoomba pasta, ragu cheese pasta, melanzane ragu pasta, seafood oil pasta, anchovy oil pasta and more haha, plus risottos like truffle cream risotto and gamberoni risotto — good options if eating meat nonstop feels like too much. With sides like quesadillas, tacos and cheese fries, plus beer, highballs and wine, it also seems like a solid spot for a drink in the evening lol. If there's a bigger group, ordering several dishes to share sounds like the most fun way to go.

What comes on the NEW Rustic BBQ Platter, 45,000 won

What we ordered that day was the NEW Rustic BBQ Platter for ₩45,000. As you can see in the photos, a huge pan comes loaded with a ton of stuff at once haha. Per the menu, it comes with baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork BBQ, french fries and three pieces of bread as the base.

Coleslaw sits in the middle, and there are various sauces and jalapeños to mix in based on your taste lol. When the platter first landed on the table, it was so packed I genuinely couldn't decide what to eat first — the visual alone was great. Menus like this really do need one pan piled high with meat and sides rather than everything served neatly separate haha.

Pulled pork BBQ that shreds soft and tender

The first thing that caught my eye was the pulled pork, shredded along the grain. The strands were loose enough to pick up easily with a fork and worked great stuffed into bread haha. Pulled pork has that classic salty, rich BBQ flavor that's good on its own, but personally I preferred it paired with bread.

Split the bread in half, add some pulled pork and coleslaw, then top with sauce, and you can basically make a mini pulled pork burger on the spot lol. As shown in the photo, the bread itself is very soft, so it wasn't heavy to eat alongside the meat.

The baby back ribs were the star of the platter

The baby back ribs occupying the right side of the platter had a striking look from the start haha. Sauce coated thick on the surface with grill marks here and there — it looked every bit like proper BBQ.

The ribs' sauce is fairly rich, so pairing a bite with fries or coleslaw worked well lol. The coleslaw's fresh, crunchy bite in particular kept resetting my palate between bites, so I didn't get sick of the meat as fast as I expected. Add a jalapeño on top and you get a spicy, tangy kick that changes things up again haha.

Fries and three pieces of bread make it a filling portion

It's not a BBQ platter that's all meat, all the time. There was a generous pile of french fries on one side, plus three pieces of bread haha. The fries can be dipped in BBQ sauce or swapped between ketchup and other sauces, so they earned their keep as a side.

On one side, sauces and jalapeños to go with the BBQ menu were laid out. Eating meat can get a bit heavy after a while, and that's exactly when the jalapeños come in handy lol. Better to grab a little at a time and add more as needed rather than loading up from the start. The same meat can taste quite different depending on which sauce you pair it with, so it was fun trying different combinations haha.

Worth it for a different family dinner in Bojeong-dong?

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch felt distinctly different from your usual pasta place or steakhouse. The American BBQ restaurant concept hits you the moment you walk in, and the food arrives generously piled on big platters, making it great for eating with a group haha.

What I liked most about the NEW Rustic BBQ Platter we had was being able to try baby back ribs, brisket and pulled pork all at once for ₩45,000. If you'd rather taste a little of everything than commit to one kind of meat, the platter is definitely the fun choice lol. Being close to the Bojeong-dong café street is another plus — you can eat and then wander over to the cafés nearby.

This felt like a place better suited for eating with friends or a family dinner than a date haha. If you're in Yongin's Bojeong-dong looking for something a bit different, or craving American BBQ like brisket, pulled pork and baby back ribs, Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is worth keeping in mind. Next time I'd like to add a pasta to the platter and try even more of the menu lol.
