I've been having so much fun lately hunting down good bakeries! This time I was looking for bakery spots near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office and ended up at BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch.

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is a bakery café where you can find all kinds of baked goods and desserts in one place. From familiar items like salt bread, financiers, and egg tarts to some slightly more unusual desserts, there was such a variety it was fun just to look around!

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is on the 1st floor of 16 Dangsan-ro 27-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Hours are Mon–Fri 08:00–21:00 and Sat–Sun 09:00–21:00, though Chuseok hours need to be confirmed. For parking, you can use the Dangsan Neighborhood Park public parking lot, which is ₩1,800 per hour.

The interior of this Yeongdeungpo-gu Office bakery favorite was decorated in warm, brown tones overall! With the added wood texture, the whole place felt cozy and comfortable — it seemed like a nice spot to pick out some bread and then relax with coffee for a while.

It's a good place to sit by the window and have coffee alone, but since the space is fairly roomy, it also felt like a nice atmosphere to visit with friends and chat over bread and desserts. In fact, there's a meeting room for 6 people and group seating for 10 or more, so it looked like a good option for friend gatherings or larger groups too.

What caught my eye in the display case was the wakppu salt bread! The first time I tried it, it was a whole new world, and I guess I got addicted since it's been on my mind ever since. As luck would have it, there was a peach wakppu salt bread event running during my visit, so I even got a ₩1,000 discount! There was no way I wasn't buying it after that.

There were also various small items like birthday candles and headbands.

The drink menu is varied too, with coffee, non-coffee options, smoothies, and juices.

There was a huge variety of bread and baked goods! In particular, the display case was piled high with salt bread and financiers, and it looked so delicious that I spent a long time deciding what to get. This isn't a small bakery with just one or two items — with about 60 kinds of bakery items including financiers, egg tarts, and salt bread, it's basically heaven.

How does the fig tart taste?

The fig tart and peach wakppu salt bread! The peach wakppu salt bread looks like one of those mango soaps you'd buy in Thailand.

The fig tart had a crisp tart texture combined with the gentle sweetness of fig, and it went really well with coffee. With the fig in there, the sweetness felt softer and not overwhelming, and the fig's texture as you bite through it was fun too!
