Millepollie (밀레폴리에) is the place we found for a nice Western meal while out on a date in Ilsan.

If you're looking for a great pasta spot in Ilsan, Millepollie is an Italian restaurant on a quiet side street. The exterior already felt charming, and the inside was cozy, so it was really good for a date.

The tables are spaced generously, so we could spend the meal comfortably. The staff were friendly too, so we started eating in a good mood.

The ciabatta, the first thing out from the couple set, was much softer than I expected 🤍🙏🏻🫧

It was slightly crisp outside and fluffy inside, so good that I thought I could happily eat just the bread.

Dipped in olive oil, the nutty flavor came out even more. It was a satisfying start.

Orange and grapefruit ades that feel homemade

For the couple set drinks we got an orange ade and a grapefruit ade. What I liked most was the slushy ice on top.

They weren't ordinary syrupy ades; the real taste of the fruit came through. They were fresh and refreshing, and went really well with the pasta and pizza. You could tell they'd paid attention even to the small things.

Prosciutto salad

The prosciutto salad at Millepollie came with plenty of prosciutto on top. The combination of salty prosciutto and sweet dressing was really good.

The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, just right for whetting the appetite ✨

Why the vongole pasta is different

The vongole (clam) pasta at Millepollie was a little different from what I usually eat. They use white wine generously, so there was a subtle acidity and a much deeper flavor than a typical vongole.

At first it felt a bit unusual, but the more I ate, the more I kept reaching for it. The mantecare (the finishing step of tossing pasta with the sauce) was really well done, so the sauce had properly soaked into the noodles.

It uses linguine, so the springy texture was great, and the noodles held the sauce right to the end, which made it even tastier. If you like vongole, it's worth trying once.

Arugula wood-fired pizza

The arugula pizza at Millepollie was piled with arugula, no holding back. With every bite the arugula aroma hit, and the clean, fresh taste left an impression.

The dough is thin, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy, and I liked the crispy texture. It also paired really well with the pasta.
