Anyang gopchang restaurant with garlic sauce and high chairs: Ilmigop
In short
Ilmigop is a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in Bisan-dong, Anyang, Gyeonggi, directly across from the Bisan 1-dong community center. On a weekday evening revisit, a couple ordered the assorted grill for two at 21,900 won and fried rice at 4,900 won, comparing gopchang, daechang, makchang and beef heart that arrive 70 percent pre-seared and need only 5 more minutes on the grill. With Febreze and high chairs by the entrance, Ilmigop stays unusually fresh for a gopchang place, and the garlic sauce cuts the richness well.

I was craving gopchang (grilled beef intestine) on a weekday evening, so my husband and I went back to Ilmigop, a spot in Bisan-dong known as one of the best gopchang restaurants in Anyang haha. I remembered loving it the last time I went, and honestly, it didn't disappoint again this time. Here's an honest write-up based on what I actually tasted :)

What this Bisan-dong gopchang restaurant looks like from outside

The clean exterior caught my eye right away. There was a sign saying they only use natural ingredients to tenderize the meat, and that ingredients are sourced and prepped the same day they're sold — which made me expect fresh gopchang before I even walked in :) Just looking at the sign and interior, you can tell why it's known as one of the good gopchang restaurants in Anyang.
Inside Ilmigop: no lingering gopchang smell, and high chairs for kids

Without the usual gopchang-restaurant smell or messiness, the interior was bigger than expected, with plenty of tables and comfortable seats. No worrying about the smell lingering on you — it felt quite pleasant for a gopchang restaurant in Anyang.

There's Febreze at the entrance and baby chairs ready to go, which showed some real thoughtfulness on their part.
What's on the Ilmigop menu

Looking at the menu, besides the assorted grill (gopchang, daechang, makchang), you can also order gopchang, daechang, makchang, and beef heart grilled separately by cut. For sides, there's beef tartare (yukhoe), beef tartare cold noodle soup, steamed egg, fried rice, and watermelon sherbet.
They also had a wide range of highballs, great for cooling off in the summer heat.

Last time I had the plain gopchang grill, but this time I went with the assorted grill for 2, so I could compare the cuts side by side — not a bad choice at all.
- Assorted grill (2 servings): ₩21,900
- Fried rice: ₩4,900
The basic sides were salad, pickled onion, chive kimchi, two sauces, and sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew),

The sundubu jjigae had clams in it and was packed with ingredients — the spicy stew flavor paired really well with the main dish. It can also be ordered separately for an extra ₩3,000, just so you know~
How the assorted grill tasted, cut by cut

The assorted grill comes pre-seared, so it arrives about 70% cooked, and the staff kindly explained we'd just need to grill it another 5 minutes or so.

As it sizzled away with the vegetables on the stone plate, a subtle smell rose up and made my mouth water first haha.
The first thing I picked up was the beef heart — chewy yet fresh, filling my mouth with that texture right off the bat haha, a great start.

The gopchang, packed full of gop (fat/marrow), burst as soon as I bit into it, releasing that distinctive nutty aroma and umami flavor,

the beef makchang had a lively, chewy bounce, while the daechang was the opposite — soft and melting — so each cut clearly had its own charm.
Paired with vegetables like onion, green onion, garlic, potato, and enoki mushroom, you can eat it all the way through without feeling too greasy.
There were two sauces, and I personally preferred the garlic sauce — it cut through the richness better and suited my taste more.

Fried rice at 4,900 won, enough for about 1.5 people
After eating for a while, we ordered the fried rice too, and the portion was for about 1.5 people, so it was really filling haha.

Pickled radish comes along with the order, and alternating between the hot fried rice and cold pickled radish kept my mouth feeling refreshed throughout — a great pairing.

They spread egg on a fresh grill plate, so it looked great too, and with the nutty egg aroma added in, my spoon just wouldn't stop moving... If you want to try a bit of everything, the assorted grill combo seems like a solid pick among gopchang restaurants in Anyang :)
