Dangsan pub for after-work pepperoni pizza: Long Time No See

In short

Long Time No See Dangsan Branch is a pizza and beer pub one minute's walk from Exit 12 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. After work I ordered the Long Time Peach Set chicken and a pepperoni pizza with cheese crust added to the rim, then added hot sauce and parmesan from the self-bar. With several draft beers on self-tap that you pour by the amount you want, Long Time No See handles pizza and beer plus chicken and beer in one sitting.

On a day when I wanted a light beer after work, I stopped by Long Time No See Dangsan Branch, where you can enjoy pizza and draft beer together in Dangsan. What made it fun was being able to pour as much as you like of several kinds of beer yourself, so you don't have to commit to just one. It also went great with pizza, so I'm introducing it for anyone searching for a Dangsan restaurant that's easy to grab a casual drink at.

Coming out of the exit and heading about 50m into the alley, you'll find the building, where the shop takes up the 2nd and 3rd floors. How does the self-tap draft beer work?

At Long Time No See Dangsan Branch, instead of ordering just one type of beer, you can pick and pour whichever draft beer you like from several options yourself. You tag a dedicated wristband on the self-tap, tilt your glass, and pour as much as you want, and you're charged based on the amount poured.

Inside, the space was decorated with a casual pub atmosphere. There were tables set up for groups, making it a good spot for gatherings with friends or a beer after work. In particular, the long self-tap counter set up on one side of the store caught my eye.

The process is simple. You can try a small pour of a beer you've never had, then get more of the ones you like. Since each beer has a different taste and aroma, it was fun comparing them one by one, and also fun to find a beer that paired well with the pizza. Among Dangsan restaurants, this was a good place to visit when you want to handle both a meal and drinks in one spot.

Long Time No See menu and what we ordered

Long Time No See Dangsan Branch's menu was centered on pizza, with a variety of other dishes that go well with beer like pasta, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and fries. That day we ordered the Long Time Peach Set chicken and the pepperoni pizza.

For pizza, there was a half-and-half option to enjoy two flavors on one pie, plus combination, pepperoni, bulgogi, and more, so you could order according to group size or taste. There were also simple side dishes to go with it, making it easy to pick a menu whether you're there for a first round of dinner or a second round of drinks.

Self-bar: hot sauce, parmesan cheese and hutgae tea

There was also a self-bar set up on one side of the store where you could easily grab what you needed. Hot sauce and parmesan cheese, essentials for pizza, were available so you could add as much as you wanted while eating. There was also chilled hutgae tea (oriental raisin tree tea) to drink instead of water, which was nice to sip between beers. It was convenient being able to help yourself to sauces or drinks without having to ask staff separately.

How was the pepperoni pizza with cheese crust?

The moment the pepperoni pizza from Long Time No See Dangsan Branch hit the table, a savory cheese aroma rose up first. The thinly baked dough was topped generously with cheese, and every slice had plenty of pepperoni. The savory cheese combined with the salty flavor unique to pepperoni made me reach straight for a beer.

It was delicious as is, but a light drizzle of the hot sauce from the self-bar added a spicy kick that cut through the richness. Adding parmesan cheese deepened the cheese flavor, letting me enjoy the same pizza in a slightly different way.

Above all, it paired well with the draft beer. The cold beer cleanly followed through on the saltiness of the pepperoni, so I found myself alternating a bite of pizza and a sip of beer. If you're looking for a pizza-and-beer menu at a Dangsan restaurant, this was a solid go-to.

I added a cheese crust to the edge of the dough, and with cheese stretching all the way to the last bite, there was nothing left to leave behind. Eating it warm, the cheese inside stretched softly and the savory flavor came through richly — a total beer snack.

Boneless fried chicken in the Long Time Peach Set

The boneless fried chicken came fried in pieces perfect for one bite. The outside was fried crisp with a satisfying crunch, and the meat inside was moist rather than dry. The batter wasn't too thick, so you could still taste plenty of the chicken. Eating them hot, one after another, right off the plate, I kept reaching for more.

It was clean and savory on its own, but dipping it in the sauce that came with it deepened the flavor even more. Moving from the salty pepperoni pizza to the crispy boneless chicken, I liked the contrast in texture between the dishes. Best of all, there were no bones to pick out, making it easy to eat while drinking beer. The combination of cold draft beer and fried chicken is hard to go wrong with, as always. If a pizza alone feels like it won't be enough at this Dangsan restaurant, this was a good side dish to order alongside it.

Is Long Time No See Dangsan Branch worth it?

What stood out about Long Time No See Dangsan Branch was being able to pick and pour several kinds of draft beer yourself while eating pizza and chicken. The pepperoni pizza balanced its salty toppings with savory cheese nicely, and adding the cheese crust made even the edge of the dough delicious. The crispy boneless fried chicken also went well with beer.

In particular, being able to pour as much as you want of a beer you're curious about at the self-tap was more fun than sticking to just one kind the whole time. It would also be fun to compare tastes with friends by each choosing a different beer. If you're looking for a place in Dangsan for dinner and a casual drink, Long Time No See Dangsan Branch, a Dangsan restaurant where you can enjoy pizza-and-beer and chicken-and-beer in one spot, is worth a visit.
