Chinese bar in Yeongdeungpo: Rosé Tudoufen at Yongyong Seonsaeng

Yongyong Seonsaeng's Hong Kong-inspired atmosphere near Dangsan Station

Even from the exterior, it had that signature Yongyong Seonsaeng Hong Kong vibe, haha. The yellow sign and red lighting together really caught my eye from afar! Since I visited in the evening, the atmosphere felt even more alive—it honestly felt like I was stepping into a Hong Kong bar right from the entrance lol. Yongyong Seonsaeng near Dangsan Station has such a clear concept from the outside, so it looked perfect for a casual drink with friends!

A spacious, lively interior

Once inside, Yongyong Seonsaeng's Hong Kong atmosphere came through even more clearly, haha. It was full of hip, exotic-feeling details! The space was quite a bit larger than I expected, with plenty of tables, so it seemed great for coming with friends or gathering as a bigger group >.< Since it was evening, there were quite a lot of customers too, and the whole place felt bustling and energetic lol. If you're looking for a bar with atmosphere around Dangsan Station, this is exactly the kind of place you'd like!

What we ordered and the prices

There were so many things on the menu that I agonized over what to get, but of course I ended up choosing the new items lolllll.

• Peach gaoliang ball — ₩7,900

Complimentary peanuts and pickled radish

Peanuts and danmuji (pickled yellow radish) came out first as the complimentary snacks, haha. They were perfect for picking at before the main dishes arrived! The salty, nutty peanuts especially kept me reaching for more with beer lol. The danmuji was also great for refreshing the palate in between bites, so it went nicely with bold dishes like mala, too~

Sweet and refreshing peach gaoliang ball

Next, we ordered the peach gaoliang ball, haha. It looked sweet and refreshing just from the presentation, and the peach on top made the color so pretty~!!! >.< With a sip, you get the peach's sweet, tangy flavor first, followed by the subtle aroma of gaoliang liquor. It felt less strong than expected, so I think even people who aren't great with alcohol could enjoy it without too much pressure, haha.

Crab-and-egg soup that pairs well with mala dishes

The next dish was crab-and-egg soup, haha. It is made by gently cooking egg with crab meat and assorted vegetables, and even at a glance the broth looked fluffy and thick—so delicious! After a spoonful, the egg was incredibly soft and the crab meat's subtle savory flavor came through, making it light yet nutty overall :)

It was nutty and super soft, haha. The softly set egg slid down easily with every spoonful, and the delicate savory flavor of the crab meat made me keep eating even though it wasn't intense! It was especially good alongside spicy, strongly aromatic dishes like mala lol. Having a spoonful of crab-and-egg soup now and then felt like it settled my stomach right down, so it was easy to keep eating without feeling overwhelmed >.< It was such a good dish to order as a little break between the bolder flavors!

How was the new rosé tudoufen?

Finally, the newly launched rosé tudoufen arrived✨ The visual was seriously intense as soon as it came out lol. The pan was full of thick-looking orange rosé mala sauce, generously topped with alseuji (beef tendon cartilage), tudoufen, and all kinds of toppings, and it looked so appetizing!

Rather than being a thin, saucy dish, the sauce looked rich and thick, like it would properly cling to the noodles, haha. There were also big pieces of alseuji, so the portion looked quite generous! It felt different from the usual mala dishes, so I was really curious how the rosé-and-mala combination would taste lol.

Honestly, this is totally a dish for anyone who loves texture lol. The alseuji wasn't simply soft—it had a proper springy, chewy bite, with a subtly nutty taste that came out the more I chewed, and it was so good haha. And the tudoufen was seriously amazing… The thick rosé mala sauce clung right onto the wide noodles, and they were so bouncy and chewy that the bite was incredible lol.

The smooth, nutty character of rosé was joined by mala's tongue-tingling heat, so it wasn't overly rich, but the mala aroma wasn't too overpowering either—the balance was just right! The chewy tendon, bouncy tudoufen, and thick rosé mala sauce worked so well together that this was the new menu item I remembered most, haha. If you like mala and rich rosé sauce too, this is really worth trying at least once!

A great place for a casual drink near Dangsan Station

Yongyong Seonsaeng near Dangsan Station was satisfying from its signature Hong Kong-inspired atmosphere to its menu selection, haha. The space was large and hip, making it great for a casual drink with friends, and the combination of dishes was pretty good too! Above all, the new rosé tudoufen I tried had thick rosé mala sauce with chewy tendon and bouncy tudoufen, so it delivered both on texture and flavor—it was what I remembered most lol. If you like mala, I think you should definitely try it at least once! The crab-and-egg soup that soothed the stomach in between and the sweet, refreshing peach gaoliang ball were also such a good match :) If you're looking for an atmospheric Chinese bar or delicious mala dishes in Dangsan, I recommend Yongyong Seonsaeng!
