Spa tub sea view room in Jumunjin, Gangneung: Dangsinuianmok 401

A last-minute trip with a friend because we didn't want to let summer slip by without a getaway. Here's my review of Dangsinuianmok Juncheon's Grasse Room 401, where we stayed on our Gangneung trip!

I put a lot of thought into picking a stay for this trip, and the short version is: I picked well. From the East Sea ocean view the second the door opened to the white-toned interior, it was exactly my taste.

Where is Dangsinuianmok Jumunjin, and what are the check-in times?

Dangsinuianmok Juncheon is located at 37 Deungdae-gil, Juncheon-eup, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, right in front of Juncheon Beach. Check-in is 15:00, check-out is 11:00.

Being right on Juncheon Beach made it easy to build a whole itinerary around the area. There's plenty to see nearby too, including the filming location of the drama Goblin, sundubu (soft tofu) gelato, cafés and restaurants — a great spot to leave the car and just explore on foot.

A clean white exterior right by the sea

Dangsinuianmok is a spotless white building right on the beach! The exterior was clean and fuss-free, which got me excited for the inside. The East Sea is right there, so just walking around the building already felt like a proper Gangneung trip. Parking was available too, which made arriving by car easy.

Key pickup at the management office, and finding the Grasse building

Dangsinuianmok Juncheon has two buildings, which can be a bit confusing on your first visit. One is Dangsinuianmok Juncheon, and the building set a little further back is Dangsinuianmok Grasse, which is where we'd booked.

The check-in management office is in the Juncheon-dong building, so you need to stop there first to get your room key. After that, we headed over to the Grasse building and up to our room. There's an elevator in the building too, which made carrying luggage up easy.

Grasse Room 401: an ocean view the moment the door opens

I unlocked the door with the key, and...

Whoa... the sea view was insane. The moment the door opened, the East Sea spread out beyond a massive floor-to-ceiling window — a proper ocean view stay in Juncheon. I'd booked based on photos, but it was even prettier in person.

The whole room was clean white tones, with a marble floor that felt cool and luxurious at the same time.

Overall, exactly what people mean these days by a 'good-vibes stay.' A place with genuinely great atmosphere.

The spa tub by the window

The window-side spa tub was a particular highlight! You can soak while looking out at the sea, which made it feel like a great stay for couples too.

Bathroom, kitchen and amenities in Room 401

The bathroom and kitchen were just as clean as the overall room vibe. The bathroom had basic amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo, and towels were stocked generously.

The kitchen had everything you'd need — a kettle, plates, dishware and more.

But instead of having all these everyday items sitting out in plain view, they were neatly tucked away in cabinets here and there. Everything you need was there without breaking the good-vibes atmosphere of the room. I love that kind of detail!

The Jumunjin sea through the floor-to-ceiling window

The biggest strength of Dangsinuianmok Grasse Juncheon is, without a doubt, the view. Whether lying in bed or sitting at the table, the East Sea at Juncheon was right there in full view. The floor-to-ceiling window itself felt like one giant picture frame.

At night, my friend and I laid out drinks and snacks on the table and had one of those deep life conversations while looking at the sea. It felt like the stay itself was a travel destination, no need to even step outside. This is exactly the appeal of an ocean view stay...

There were plenty of places delivering even late at night nearby, and it was such a healing evening.

Morning light shimmering on the water

Then the next morning. I opened the curtains and the sea, sparkling in the sunlight, filled the entire floor-to-ceiling window. It felt like a completely different mood from the sea we'd watched the night before.

Lying still in bed watching the glittering East Sea, I really didn't want to check out. Personally, the morning shimmer on the water stayed with me even more than the night sea.

So if you're looking for an ocean view stay in Juncheon, I really recommend waking up a bit early to catch the morning view.

Would I stay at Dangsinuianmok Jumunjin again?

The exterior view of the Dangsinuianmok building, a Gangneung pension... just so pretty. There was even a cute cat around, and the street was quiet, so it felt very healing.

From the location to the room condition, the interior, and the ocean view, it was such a happy day overall. The staff were also quick and kind whenever I had questions, which made staying there comfortable.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, and Juncheon sightseeing spots like the Goblin filming location are close by, so I liked the location as a Gangneung trip stay too. Most of all, waking up and seeing the East Sea in such a pretty room was the best part. I'd love to come back to Dangsinuianmok Juncheon on my next Gangneung trip. And next time, an ocean view room again!
