Dangsinuianmok Juncheon, an oceanview pension in Juncheon, Gangneung

My husband and I were planning a Gangwon trip and this time decided to really search for a proper oceanview place to stay in Gangneung. The things that mattered most to us when picking a stay: somewhere close to the sea, somewhere you can walk the beach, somewhere you can walk to the fish market and the lighthouse! That's how we found Dangsinuianmok Juncheon, a stay in Juncheon, Gangneung.

Spacious pension parking lot

Parking, check-in, and the Grass and Brie buildings

The parking lot is huge so there's absolutely no worry about finding a spot. Checked in on the first floor, got the room key, and headed up the elevator to Room 403 — pit pat pit pat 👍 Once I had the key I was so curious and excited about what the view would look like 😄

There are two buildings — Grass and Brie!!! We booked Room 403 in Brie 🙌🏻

The view made us gasp the moment we walked in!!!! I told my husband right away that it would be amazing if it rained, and then it actually rained!!!! haha

Bathtub with a sea view in the room

Amenities and things to keep in mind

The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a toothbrush set, and there's a basket by the door with towels and a hairdryer, so don't panic looking for those!!! There are also a few things to keep in mind while staying:

  • You can reheat simple food, but eating anything with a strong smell inside the room isn't allowed
  • No smoking indoors 🚭 (the owner took one look at my face and said I didn't seem like a smoker!!!! 🙃)
  • If you want to soak in the tub while looking at the sea, it's only available until 10pm, so plan your timing 🛁

Walking to Juncheon Beach, the fish market, and the lighthouse

I loved that you can enjoy Juncheon Beach up close, the fish market is nearby, and you can walk to the lighthouse — so we could explore Juncheon around the stay without hopping in the car over and over.

Sea and sky seen from the room

Ocean view waking up in the morning

A view like the sea could swallow you, and the sound of rain

But the moment we walked in and looked out the window, I knew we'd picked well 🌊 Through the floor-to-ceiling window the sea spreads out almost right in front of you, and it's even prettier in person than in photos. It felt so close, barely any distance at all, like the sea might just swallow us up. The view before sleep and the view on waking up were different but both stunning?!?! I was half-asleep but it was so pretty I grabbed my phone to take photos first haha

You could see the waves rolling in from the room, so you didn't even need to go sightseeing — just staring at the sea from the room was healing in itself! And then it actually started raining, so the sound of rain made it even more relaxing 🫶🏼 Anyone looking for an oceanview pension in Gangneung will immediately understand why the floor-to-ceiling window matters so much haha. Sitting there with my husband looking at the sea, it randomly reminded me of when we were dating in our twenties.

Evening walk along the Juncheon shoreline

A walk to the pavilion out front, feeling like we were dating again

Stepping out for a walk around the neighborhood felt so good. There's a pavilion right in front of the stay, and its quiet, old-fashioned feel just melted away the travel fatigue!!! Between raising our kid and both being busy, it's not easy to get a trip that's just the two of us — but this time, coming to Gangneung with just my husband, seeing the sea, walking the beach, visiting the fish market... it honestly felt like dating again ❤️

So this Gangneung trip stay wasn't just somewhere to sleep — it gave us memories from the trip too, which made it even better. If you're looking for an oceanview pension stay in Juncheon, Gangneung, Dangsinuianmok Juncheon is worth keeping an eye on for how close it puts you to the sea and everything else in Juncheon 🥰
