The ingredients? Everything was alive and so fresh, it was the best! If you visit in winter, it's the best place in Jumunjin to enjoy large fatty yellowtail! In summer you can enjoy pomfret and red seabream, which is great too! If you visit this season, pufferfish sashimi and a seasonal mixed platter of red seabream and flounder are in season!

What the Jumunjin sashimi takeout set looked like at the stay

I got mine to go! I planned to eat it back at the stay! If you're looking for sashimi takeout in Jumunjin, come to Ilchul Hoetjip~~

Takeout containers of sashimi from Ilchul Hoetjip

The set was so full and generous?? I remember mine had 4 types — red seabream, pufferfish, yellowtail, and flounder!? They threw in shrimp, conch, and abalone as a free service, plus vinegar-gochujang and wasabi soy sauce!! Even lettuce leaves, so there was no need to bother going to the mart!!

Look at the color of the sashimi! Doesn't it look so fresh? Being able to eat fresh sashimi like this in Jumunjin is the best!

Four types of sashimi — red seabream, pufferfish, yellowtail, flounder — laid out at the stay

The sashimi was thick-cut and generous too, it was the best! There must be a reason so many locals in Gangneung's Jumunjin visit here, right??

I wanted to drink alongside it too, so I picked up bokbunja (Korean black raspberry wine) and Chamisul soju from the convenience store!

How the flounder, red seabream and pufferfish sashimi tasted

Let me try a piece first! So firm and chewy, so good?? This is the flounder sashimi!

A piece of flounder sashimi picked up with chopsticks

This is the red seabream? The slices were thick and fresh, so incredibly chewy! Definitely different from sashimi you'd eat in the city, right??

Thickly sliced red seabream sashimi

I think this was the pufferfish sashimi. It was my first time trying pufferfish sashimi, and there's really no need to worry at all. Since Jumunjin restaurants like this have the national technical certification for pufferfish preparation, it gives you real peace of mind, doesn't it??

The free abalone, conch and shrimp from Ilchul Hoetjip

The abalone was so plump and firm, really nice!

Prepared abalone served as a free side

This one might have been conch? They even prepped it so it was easy to pull out, so you can just dip it lightly in the vinegar-gochujang and eat right away!

Conch and shrimp prepped for easy eating

The shrimp was plump and good too! I got sashimi to go this time in Jumunjin, but next time I should go stuff myself with snow crab or king crab in the shop!! Since it's sashimi cut from fish caught that same day, it was so fresh and just the best! I'll come again~~
