Table setting, pickles and the free self bar

Table setting 🤍 A neat side plate, fork, spoon and knife are all set out prettily. Pickles 🤍 Sweet, tangy and crunchy pink pickles are served, and they went great with both the pizza and pasta.

Self bar. At the self bar set up on one side of the restaurant, you can freely help yourself to hot sauce, honey and extra pickles.
Bismarck wood-fired pizza: popping the egg yolk

🍕 Wood-fired pizza (Bismarck pizza) The main dish I'd been looking forward to finally arrived — the Bismarck wood-fired pizza! Bismarck pizza has a soft-boiled egg, bacon and spinach on it. Fresh out of the oven, the crust edges were golden and puffed up crisp — it looked so delicious 🤗

There's an egg yolk sitting right in the middle, and once you pop it and eat it together with the dough, cheese and toppings, a luxurious softness and nutty flavor spreads through your mouth.

The dough, carrying that distinct wood-fired smokiness, was crisp outside and chewy inside, so I dipped every last bit of the crust in honey and ate it happily. One bite and I immediately understood why this place is famous as a pizza spot in Sinbu-dong!
Rosé pasta with shrimp, cuttlefish, octopus and fried mushrooms

Rosé pasta. I ordered the rosé pasta along with the pizza. The rosé pasta comes with shrimp, cuttlefish, octopus and fried mushrooms.

The thick, rich sauce clung moistly to the noodles, and the crispy mushroom topping on top added fun texture. The slightly spicy finish kept it from feeling heavy at all throughout the meal, and saving the chewy edge of the pizza crust to dip generously into the leftover rosé sauce turned into a delicacy — I ended up scraping the sauce clean.

We also ordered a cold cola to cut through the richness of the pizza and pasta. It came served over ice, so we could finish the meal feeling cool and refreshed to the last sip.
Walking the Cheonancheon stream path after the meal

After enjoying the wood-fired pizza and pasta, Cheonancheon stream is right in front of the restaurant as soon as you step out. The lights along the walking path were softly lit, and it was just right to walk off the meal a little. Great food plus a charming walk along Cheonancheon made for an even more satisfying time.
Is Napoli Shinbu worth a visit?
A perfect combination of crisp-outside, chewy-inside authentic wood-fired pizza and thick, rich pasta! I'd recommend this as a go-to wood-fired pizza spot in Cheonan.
