Siheung Baegot shellfish grill: king scallops and mussel ramyeon

I went on a trip to Siheung not long ago. I've got a few places I love in Oido and Wolgot so I end up traveling to Siheung a lot for them, but there was also this all-you-can-eat shellfish grill place I'd wanted to try for ages, so I finally made it happen this time. Let me tell you how it went.

Location and hours of Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch

Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch is on the 2nd floor of Avenue France Central Purple Building A, near Seoul National University's Siheung Campus, at Seoul National University-ro 264beon-gil in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open Tue–Fri 17:00–24:00 and weekends 13:00–20:30, closed every Monday. Corkage is allowed, parking is free, and pets can come along if kept in a carrier or bag.

A place that gives you unlimited king scallops

Right at the entrance there's a board listing that day's shellfish lineup. The whole reason I came here is that, unlike most shellfish-grill buffets that use vinyl scallops or hongari scallops, Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch offers unlimited domestic and Japanese king scallops — so I rushed straight over.

The tables are set up as 4-seaters like this, and groups can push tables together, so it seems like a great spot for family gatherings or get-togethers.

Decide steamed or grilled shellfish at the start

The grill plate is split into two sections, and you have to decide up front whether you want steamed shellfish or grilled shellfish — heads up, you can't switch later. You're given a basket to fill with drinks, instant rice, or ramyeon packs, then take it to the register to pay.

The menu was posted up like a banner. There were three of us adults, and we added drinks, beverages, and ramyeon.

Draft beer refills, ₩6,900 per person

Drinks are self-serve from the fridge, and draft beer refills are also available at ₩6,900 per person. Blast away the summer heat with unlimited draft beer!

The self-bar has foil plates, spoons, chopsticks, wet wipes, soy sauce, wasabi, and small plates all set out — grab whatever you need.

You bring your own ramyeon and instant rice to cook, and on the way out you just check them off on the green basket!

Meat and sauce self-bar

Here's the self-bar for meat and other grilled sides. There was woo-samgyeop (thin beef brisket), pork neck, pork belly, and hangjeongsal (pork jowl) available.

There were a ton of sauces at the 'shellfish sauce big three' station — we mixed buldak sauce with mayo to make a spicy mayo. Does that look like something a sauce master would come up with?

Today's lineup: 10 kinds of shellfish

The shellfish lineup for the day was scallop, abalone, pen shell, dolgadi clam, Manila clam, surf clam, cherrystone clam, conch, hard clam, and mussel.

We brought over scallops, pen shell, and abalone. Eating king scallops on an unlimited-refill basis?! I was so moved.

We grilled the shellfish however each of us liked and took a bite — the fresh, plump scallop filled the whole mouth. This is exactly why you eat king scallops...

Cheese is also unlimited, so we piled it on top of chojang-dressed grilled scallop and dug in.

Hangjeongsal and grilled conch

We grilled pork belly, hangjeongsal, and woo-samgyeop on the meat side of the grill until golden and tried them all. The meat is all unlimited too, and the quality was great — hangjeongsal especially, so juicy it was right up my alley.

We also grilled the conch on the side — it was so fresh the meat just slipped right out of the shell. Stuffing a mouthful of it in, there was no way I could hold off on another drink. You all have to try grilled conch too...!

Big king scallops straight from the tank

Partway through, they were restocking the tank with king scallops, so I rushed over — there were some huge scallops in there, and we brought them straight to our table. Can you tell the size from the photo and video?

They were so big we split them in half, and even then each bite was packed with moist, tender flesh — honestly, it was worth the drive to Siheung just for this.

With grills on both sides of the table, the heat was intense, and we were sweating away eating. Seeing that, the owner brought us ice neck coolers and grape slushies as a free service. We got fed, warmed our hearts, and drank — really did it all.

We also made a cheese gratin with the grilled shellfish, adding kimchi, chojang, cheongyang chili, and piling on the unlimited cheese. You all should definitely try this — it goes through three bottles of soju easily.

Finishing with mussel-packed ramyeon

The best thing about Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch is that you can pile as much shellfish as you want into your ramyeon without worrying about it, since the shellfish itself is unlimited — great for building a rich broth. Time to make some ramyeon, heart pounding.

Since mussels were on the lineup, we loaded the ramyeon with them. Once cooked and shelled, the mussels turned out to be fat and plump — genuinely delicious. Those sweet, chunky mussels made it impossible to put down the soju glass.

Why it was worth the trip to Siheung

I've been to plenty of all-you-can-eat shellfish grills, but offering unlimited domestic and Japanese king scallops — not hongari or vinyl scallops — with no time limit made this place worth traveling to Siheung for. Being able to eat fresh, high-quality shellfish freely, without holding back, is something else.

Above all, the fact that the cheese, which usually costs extra elsewhere, is also unlimited and free made it even more appealing. They're now also serving salt-grilled king prawns and salt-grilled prawns, so instead of going somewhere far, I'd recommend giving Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch a visit!
