Baegot Korean BBQ for work dinners: pre-grilled ogyeopsal at Hamdon

What do you all eat on days when you're completely drained? For me, it's always got to be something like samgyeopsal (pork belly) or pork neck haha. I recently went to practice for my driving test and I guess I was tensing up my whole body more than I realized, because I felt so wiped out afterward... so I went straight out for some pork belly 🫠

What kind of Korean BBQ restaurant is Hamdon Baegot?

This time I went to Hamdon Baegot, a Korean BBQ restaurant in Baegot, Siheung. They pre-grill the aged pork before it comes to your table, which made eating so much easier! It's also perfect for having a drink with your meal, so it seemed like a good spot to come with friends too 🍺 (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛

What side dishes come with the meal at Hamdon Baegot?

Once you order at Hamdon Baegot, these basic side dishes come out! It was such a neat, tidy spread. Kind of felt like being treated well, you know? The green onion kimchi was so, so good!! And they even give you wasabi! Major bonus points 🩷

Ogyeopsal for two plus pork neck: pre-grilled and on the table fast

We ordered 2 servings of pork belly and 1 serving of pork neck. Since Hamdon in Baegot pre-grills the meat to some degree before serving, it didn't take long to finish grilling at the table, which I loved! The meat was tasty all around, and probably because it was aged, it was tender with pretty good juiciness too 🤤

And I thought it tasted best eaten with minari (water dropwort)!! Putting a piece of meat with minari on top gave it a great aroma and cut through the richness, so I just kept eating more and more haha. If you like the meat + minari combo, you'll probably love this 💚

Another thing I loved was that it wasn't just meat — they also served bone soup alongside it, which was so nice! Taking a spoonful of the broth in between bites of meat was just perfect haha. They kept the bone soup on an induction burner so it stayed warm the whole time! This seems like a great spot for a Baegot work dinner too!

Wasabi and meljeot: how to pair the dipping sauces

Can you see how thick the meat is? 👀 Looking at how chunky it is makes me want to eat it again... It's delicious with wasabi on top, and eating it together with minari and green onion kimchi is basically paradise..🌿 They also have salted shrimp. There was also a spot to set meat aside so we could eat down to the last piece without burning it 😊

The meat itself was delicious, but pairing it with all these extras made it even better haha. I had a proper pork belly meal for the first time in a while and came home really full! (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛

One drawback at Hamdon Baegot: the rice

Overall it was a delicious meal, but there was one thing I wasn't fully satisfied with — the rice... the bowl of rice we ordered was a bit too soft, so that part was a little disappointing ㅜㅜ Still, the meat itself was great, so aside from that I left satisfied!

Is Hamdon Baegot good for a work dinner or group gathering?

I heard Hamdon, a well-known spot in Baegot, has its main branch in Jeongwang-dong, and the Baegot location is a directly-run branch! The Baegot branch has a fairly spacious, comfortable interior, so it seemed good for coming with a bigger group too. The tables weren't packed too tightly together either, so we could eat comfortably without worrying about the next table over!

Personally, when I go to a Korean BBQ place, I'm not a fan of ones that are so loud you can't hear each other over the neighboring tables, but this place had just the right lively atmosphere haha. It has that typical bustling BBQ energy, but not so loud that you have to raise your voice — you can still chat comfortably with the people you came with. So it's great for eating with friends, but I also think it'd work well as a spot for a work dinner. Best of all, the place was clean and comfortable, so I didn't get that stuffy feeling of my clothes reeking of grilled meat afterward! If you're looking for a place in Baegot where a group can eat pork, this could be a good pick for a gathering or work dinner 🐷

Is parking easy at Hamdon Baegot in Baegot, Siheung?

🅿️ Driving out to eat pork in Baegot can make parking a bit of a worry, but Hamdon has a fairly large underground parking lot, so it was fine to visit by car! If you're craving aged pork in Baegot or looking for a spot to eat meat with family or friends, this seems worth a visit 🐷🩷
